Not appropriate for children under 15 years of age, January 5, 2006
This review is from: The short and bloody history of knights, spies, and pirates (Hardcover)
This book is a humorous, fact-filled summary of knights, spies, and pirates. It includes cartoon illustrations of many of the facts and anecdotes described in the text. Many of the same facts and anecdotes, however, describe gory or grisly events (as an example, see the description of warfare and sieges during the Crusades) which makes it wholly inappropriate for junior teens. Older teens and adults should find it fun reading, as long as they're not too squeamish!

Great for Children of all ages, December 14, 2005
This review is from: The short and bloody history of knights, spies, and pirates (Hardcover)
A wonderful book written with a Jr. High aged kid in mind. However, it is still a delight to read as an adult (I think I had more fun than a teenager would) It is written with a wit and humor that anyone can enjoy. This book gives historical information in a fun, "forget I'm learning" sort of way. I reccomend it for anyone and everyone.
