I think you can't. But it is still possible to do what you wish. What you do is to use the flip software to select the best frame(s) from your video clip(s) (you have 30 such frames (pics) per second to choose from) and then export that video frame as a singe picture. Not being able to shot from the Slide camera itself is not entirely negative. By using the video source to hand pick the best frames (pics), you can really pin point and extract the right moment in a much better way than trying to catch a difficult moment with a still camera.
