SimpleHuman is no newcomer to taking on kitchen & living products that historically are hard to do right. They have perfected automatic trashcans and automatic soap dispensers. Their commitment to their customers is accompanied by commitment to corporate ethics and environmental awareness. I own a lot of their products and, while all of them have been expensive for their respective type, all of them have been built to a standard that exceeds the competition.
This Napkin Holder follows that tradition of excellence. Constructed of high-chromium stainless steel and a durable plastic, the unit looks good and uses durable materials. This means the cosmetics will hold up, as well the functional capability. This product is backed with a 5-year warranty to prove it. The concept used is simple: using a jointed arm with a specific amount of balance, it creates enough down-force to keep the napkins neatly in place, but is light enough to allow you to pull one napkin out without it disturbing the rest. And while simple in concept, correct execution is difficult. For example, SimpleHuman used a rubberized material on the base to give grip, but a harder plastic on the top arm, to allow slip. These little details are what makes this product so effective.
Napkin type WILL come in to play to some degree, as will the ANGLE you remove these napkins from the holder.Read more ›
I was looking for one that laid the napkins FLAT, since I hate when they flop over in stand-up-style holders. This fit the bill, and our contemporary aestetic, perfectly.
It is easy to grab only one napkin at a time, fits a whole lot of (square, standard-sized) napkins, and looks really cool too. Even my grumpy dad thought it was neat!
*Little fun fact, the other day I noticed this napkin holder is a kitchen table prop on the TV show "Two and a Half Men" (it's on the later seasons with Ashton Kutcher).

What this gadget lacks in style it makes up for in functionality. The weighted lever allows you to pull one napkin at a time when your other hand is busy with other things!Published 24 days ago by D. Fletcher
