5.0 out of 5 stars Great Utensil Holder
This utensil holder is fantastic. The attached spoon rest is a great idea. The 3 compartments, with different depths, mean that shorter utensils can't hide. The oval shape means it doesn't take up too much bench space.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice utensil holder, but...
The glue used to attach the instructions to the back of the holder made this purchase less than desirable. I didn't find this to be the brightest idea. It took less than a minute to open the box and remove the holder from the plastic bag. My frustration came when I removed the cardboard instructions that were GLUED to the back of the item. A trail of pieces of cardboard...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great invention!, April 3, 2006

I saw this holder on an RV program on HGTV and fell in love with the fact that you have a spoon rest attached to it. Besides being a great utensil holder because it has three compartments with different heights it's awsome that you have a spoon rest you can use, wash, and then store it back in the holder without taking any extra space. It's stainless steel with plastic lining and seems very sturdy. It's a bit pricey but I think worth it in the long run because it will last you for years to come. I'm very happy with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Utensil Holder, January 5, 2010
This review is from: simplehuman Utensil Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This utensil holder is by far the best; why?....because first of all it has more room than any other utensil holder and second like the other holders this one doesn't tilt or fall because you have a heavy utensil in it. Oh most important it comes with a spoon rest. So, its saving you another $10 for a spoon rest. You're gonna love it how it looks in your kitchen especially if like my kitchen you have all steel appliances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, August 15, 2009

This is a great invention. It is replacing a large crock AND a spoon rest. Having the spoon rest neatly tucked away saves lots of space on my counter top. The holder is large enough to hold everything I need to cook. I was planning on buying two of these, thinking that one wasn't big enough, but I found that this one is all I need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive, sturdy, and functional. Recommend!, June 30, 2011

I ordered to the utensil holder to hold my regular spoons, forks, knives (not the large kitchen utensils). This caddy works well for this purpose because it has three separate sections, with one section being shorter. So I am able to separate spoons, forks, and knives into separate compartments which makes it easier to get the right utensil when you need it.

The caddy is pretty larger (larger than I expected) 9" length x 4" width x 7" depth(height). The two tall compartments are 7" deep, the shorter compartment in the center is 5" deep. The short compartment in the front is 4.5" wide.

I am attaching a photo which shows my utensils in the caddy. You can see how different size utensils fit into it. I also added some tall utensils (ladles) which I normally don't keep in it, but figured it might be useful for someone who plans to use it that way.

I like:

1) Three compartments
2) Has shallow compartment that is good for small spoons
3) Stylish looking
4) The bottom is trip is plastic, which means the metal does not touch the counter. This translates into no rust on the bottom which what happened with my previous caddy.
5) Sturdy and bottom heavy, the utensils inside have no chance of toppling it over
6) Has a removable spoon rest which slides off the front of the caddy

I did not like:
1) For my use I would have preferred the tall compartments to be an inch shorter.

Overall it is a nice, sturdy and attractive looking holder. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why you should buy THIS one, out of all the ones available, April 30, 2011

I used to have a round utensil holder on the counter next to the stove. It was jammed full of things so it was a pain to take a utensil out, and it took up too much space.

THIS utensil holder is only 4 inches deep, so you can put it against the wall at the rear of the counter. Also, because of it's rectangular shape, it's easier to find things in it than in a round one.

THIS utensil holder has two compartments in what looks like one in the back, so things stand up straighter and are thus easier to grab. The front compartment isn't as deep so you can put shorter utensils in that one, which makes it easier to find them.

THIS utensil holder is plenty big if you get a stainless steel utensil holding rack to mount on a wall near your stove top. I bought this one, and use it for the utensils I need at the stove: Oxo SteeL Kitchen Tool and Utensil Rack Though it only has 6 hangers, I have more than one utensil on some of them.

I use the Simplehuman utensil holder on the counter where I prepare food - so it holds a whisk, a couple of spatulas, a mixing spoon Oxo Good Grips Nylon Spoon, a microplane grater Microplane 40020 Grater/Zestera pastry brush, a zester Messermeister Pro-Touch Citrus Zesterand an ice cream scoop (but mine has a black handle, not the pink handle) Cuisinart Ice Cream Scoop, Pink

Drying tableware is a pain in the butt; especially sharp knives. I loved this product so much that I ended up buying a second one. Now I have 2 of them and they do the trick! So buy two of them for you, and two for your favorite cook for Christmas or a birthday or Mother's Day.

A trail of pieces of cardboard and glue residue remains. I'll have to find another solution later after my aggrevation subsides. I'd return it if it wouldn't cost me more money and additional time.

My galley is small and sufficient with this new holder. My drawers are cleared for me to stop flubbing around and getting poke @ from digging in the drawers. Not to mention it looks classy. What a deal!!!!simplehuman Utensil Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel

Simplehuman never fails to make quality products with complete usefulness in mind. This utensil holder was much bigger than I expected (not a bad thing!) and holds almost all of my regular cooking utensils. The stainless steel matches my kitchen very well and the removable spoon rest is absolute genius.
