5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable, Easy to Use, Customizable October 31, 2012

I have used the Free Version for about 75 days and this app has worked flawlessly. Since taking the time to calibrate to my devivice I have even greater confidence in the application. I purchased the Pro Version fo have access to more features and to encourage the developers to create other high quality apps.

For me this is one of a handful of apps that keep your device running w/o any unexpected surprises (how much is that worth)). This application does it's job, requires a small amount of space and is EASY to set up. I rarely give a 5 Star Rating...this one has earned all 5...HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic battery app! October 18, 2012

I have been using the free version for a while now to see how I like it, and I have to say, this app is great! It will give you any and all information you ever wanted to know about your battery usage (and more) so you'll probably never need another app for this.

Some people on here don't understand why you should buy the 'Pro' version when the free version does so much. Let me explain it to you;

When I use a free app for a while, and I realize I am-

1) Getting a more than average amount of use out of it.

2) I understand the developer a lot of time and effort in to building the app I'm using.

3) The app is of a higher than average quality (better graphics, better User interface, etc.)

Then I go ahead and buy the paid version to show my appreciation and to give something back for what I got.

There are way too many people these days that are part of this entitlement generation, who think everything should be free. Two bucks for an app of this quality is a small price to pay. So stop with the gimme gimme attitude and step up and pay your way.

There's a lot to like about Battery HD Pro. It's designed for Android 2.1 devices, but since I've only used it with the Kindle Fire HD and the 1st generation Kindle Fire, you may want to look at other reviews if you have a different Android device. This review has been updated from my original review of 7/14/2012 to add the Kindle Fire HD, as I've installed it on that model to calibrate the battery.

This tight little app takes up only 5.1MB memory and will download on less than 60 seconds. What makes this app so good is that once it's installed and calibrated, you'll know instantly how much time you have for whatever it is that you'll be doing, in hours and minutes:

* Music playback
* Video playback
* Internet browsing
* Time left to recharge
* 2D and 3D games
* Reading books (of course!)
* Battery health
* Battery Technology
* Temperature and voltage

This is just a partial listing, and other Android devices (smartphones, etc) may find additional options. The large visual battery color can be customized, as can the notification settings and the charge level alerts. Calibration of of the Kindle device is highly recommended, as it will help "tune" the battery. The calibration menu reminds you to unplug the charger, lets you know if you have the necessary charge level for calibration, notes that a Wi-Fi connection is required (at least on the Kindle Fire with that connection), and to not use the device during calibration, which will take 60 to 90 minutes.

There are two versions of this app available here: the one that I'm reviewing and the Battery HD app, which is a freebie.

I use this app every day. Really love the modes of use breakdown and the pleasant graphic of the battery. This took time and skill and I highly recommend paying the two bucks if you find it as useful as I do!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent & comprehensive January 30, 2013

If you are comfortable just looking at the "slowly draining battery icon" on the top of your Kindle Fire HD, or feel that Circle battery widget provides enough information, then you won't need this. However, if you really do want an accurate estimate of the specific number of hours you have, depending upon the usage, then consider this app.

It provides four different screens -and they are all very appealing to the eye. The first screen offers an overview of remaining time --with a visual image of a battery in case the words don't sink in :-), screens two and three offer details on likely time remaining deepening on different types of usage; and screen four shows the details on your battery health.

I liked it so much on the Kindle that I put it on my Galaxy S2 as well. It is pretty accurate as far as its estimates have been for me -especially on the Kindle Fire where I can't change the battery. Also it is very clear in the information displayed -and very stylishly designed too!

It's worth getting, and worth every penny of the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable November 11, 2012

This was well worth the nominal charge. It's accurate, and tells you in terms of activity how much power you have left. And i really like that you can have it give an audio warning at specified points, ex "You are at 60%". It's a very helpful app.

5.0 out of 5 stars didn't even pause at this rating November 24, 2012

I had the free version and loved. I got the paid version because it was a way to say thanks, kind of like shareware in the old days. it works great on my Fire, and it tells me the status. and I don't have to go through a bunch of screens just to see a pix of a battery.
