Fantastic Resource,

This review is from: Sock I, How to knit socks on two circular needles DVD. Yes, You CAN Learn to Knit Socks! (DVD)
I highly recommend this Instructional DVD for any novice knitter who does not think they can knit socks. The double pointed needle method intimidated me and I left 3 partially started socks in my UFO basket for months. I purchased this DVD at the TKGA conference and I am now knitting my own custom fit socks in 2 days or less. You must give this a try, it actually makes knitting socks FUN.

So easy to follow!!,

I purchased this dvd after I had taken a class to learn this technique at a local yarn shop and I found this dvd MUCH MUCH easier to follow.
The only complaint I have is that the instructor's wore big rings and her nails were very long which made it very distracting and hard to see the knitting. I have found this method of sock knitting to have the best joins and seams. So easy a true novice could do it

I found this DVD to have the best instructions for sockknitting that I've come across.
I have to agree with another reviewer, however; please, Nenah, lose the glittery polish, long nails and sparkly rings, they so distract from the knitting! Otherwise, I'd have given the DVD five stars.

Thrilling Results,
This review is from: Sock I, How to knit socks on two circular needles DVD. Yes, You CAN Learn to Knit Socks! (DVD)
In a nutshell I was thrilled with the results from this DVD. I bought it because I wanted to knit a pair of socks using circular needles as quickly as possible and I did just that. I had only knit two pairs of socks prior to using this DVD and they were knit using dpns--I found the process to be tedious and frustrating; however, I found the process of learning to knit with Nenah using circular needles to be just the opposite.
Initially, I found using the two circular needles to be a bit confusing (a little more clarification and showing this process initially in the DVD would have been helpful), but in no time at all, it became obvious as to how to manipulate them and from then on I had no problems. Nenah also answered an email I sent her in less than 12 hours. I plan to buy her Sock II video next because I know I will have another positive learning experience. I want to learn as much as I can about knitting socks as fast as I can. Once I have mastered her Sock II DVD I will be ready for more challenges in knitting socks. I really feel that I got my money's worth with this DVD. Thank you, Nenah for the role you played in empowering me to knit beautiful socks!

I LOVE Nenah's series of Knitting Korner DVD's! I've read some other folks complaining about her nails being distracting. I haven't been that distracted, I guess; I've thoroughly enjoyed being able to really see how she accomplishes some of the techniques - the camera angles are great! And she's actually pretty funny during the DVD!
It feels like having your Mom show you how to knit!

This video has very clear video instructions to follow along and takes you step by step with stopping points for you to follow the directions until you come to the next point. It makes sock knitting very easy with no confusion. I highly recommend this video. If you are interested in sock knitting this is a much easier technique to learn than using 4 pointed needles.

To date, the money I spent on this DVD has been the BEST knitting money I've spent. I have fallen so in love with Ninah's instructional style that I plan to purchase all of her DVDs.
After having abandoned knitting in my youth, I just started again a few months ago. I honestly didn't think I'd ever be able to learn how to knit socks without attending a class or without having someone very experienced teach me . . . and frankly, when I found this DVD on how to knit socks, I kind of doubted it would work for me. I get easily confused with knitting instructions. However, the feedback here was so positive, I figured I'd give it a try, especially since Ninah offers a 100% money back guarantee. I'M SO GLAD I DID! The instructions are even easier to follow than I'd anticipated. Ninah's voice is soothing and calming, and so are her instructions. You can watch the DVD over and over again without it getting on your nerves -- a real plus for me since I get easily "burnt out" on exercise or instructional DVDs. I also had a concern about how easy it would be to see the stitches on DVD. It is very easy -- you can see every stitch clearly. Nenah uses cameras both in front and in back of her to make sure every shot is easy to see. I did a practice sock first, on spare yarn. Then, I knitted the sock I wanted on Opal Sock Yarn. My sock came out great! If you look under the main photo of the DVD, you'll see the photo I posted of it. Probably the best benefit of purchasing a DVD by Nenah is that she makes herself available to answer questions. I had a question about playing the DVD on my computer -- I called and left a voice mail and the next day, Nenah called me personally. She is a wonderful, caring person. I just can't say enough. A couple tips: 1- When I spoke with Nenah, she gave me a great knitting tip. My practice sock had a little gap, or "ladder" at the part of the knitting where you switch from one circular needle to the other. When I did my practice sock, I was tightening the first stitch, which I shouldn't have been doing. Nenah suggested I tighten the second stitch on the needle instead -- just pull it tight after knitting the second stitch in. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM -- seamless, beautiful, smooth sock. (Thank you, Nenah!) 2- Read the directions before beginning to knit(they are short and easy to read). This is common sense, but because I was so excited to begin, I rushed into the project without being fully prepared. My bad: I didn't take the time to read the written instructions all the way through. At the beginning, Nenah tells you how many stitches to cast on for small, medium or large feet. Note: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR SHOE SIZE! (Had I bothered to read the directions first, I would have known this). Anyway, the small, med, lg, refers more to your calf and ankle size. Not having taken the time to read the instructions, I cast on for large since I wear large shoes (9.5). Wrong! Later in the instructions, Nenah tells you exactly how to build the socks to fit your perfect shoe size. The sock came out beautifully but, for me, the medium size fits better. The sock I'm now working on (the one pictured) is absolutely perfect for me. 3.- Use the best quality sock yarn you can afford, and if you have a specialized, mom-and-pop yarn shop in your area, buy the DVD from them or from here, but either way, use the shop to purchase your yarn and supplies. The support and help you'll receive will probably pay you back many times over. PS: Some reviewers here have mentioned that Nenah's nail polish and jewelry can be a bit distracting. I didn't find this to be true for me, however, Nenah told me that she read everyone's feedback and took it seriously. (She has something like 19 other knitting DVDs as well as a sock of the month club and more.) Her later DVDs are without the flashy polish and jewelry. I found it nice to know that this is a woman who listens and really cares.

I am delighted to say that Nenah Galati's DVD lives up to its promise. If you already know how to knit and purl, this DVD will show you how to knit socks on two circular needles.
The production values are good, with clear shots of Nenah's hands as she works her magic on circular needles. Although Nenah's nail polish needs to be toned down, she nonetheless provides clear oral and visual instructions on this knitting technique. The DVD comes with clear and concise written instructions for knitting socks, with passages marked in the text where you should refer to the DVD for clarification. There is also a printed list of the 19 other DVDs that Nenah's Knitting Korner ([...]) produces, covering everything from continental style knitting to a pampered pet sweater to Moebius knitting. Like 90% of the population, I learn best from a combination of visual demonstration, oral commentary and text. This DVD addresses the learning styles of most basic knitters, so I recommend it highly.

I found this video very helpful and was pleased with the results. I will probably buy the video that shows how to knit 2 socks at the same time and would certainly recommend this first video.

I believe Nenah has created a great atmosphere and a good tutorial for making socks. Nenah has beautiful manicured nails and some Jewelry. This did not take from me learning how to make socks, neither distracted me. In SOck number one you make a sock at a time and it gives you one option of making a heel. Wait for Sock Number 2, which I think is a good DVD as well and you learn something different. I have never made socks until now, and I started right away. The resale of this item is good, it is a great investment in my opinion!
