4.0 out of 5 stars Some fine things in the massive mishmash, July 9, 2006
This review is from: A song to life and world peace: Selected essays and poems presented at the XIII World Congress of Poets of the World Academy of Arts and Culture (Hardcover)
There are some fine pieces of work in this massive mishmash of poems and essays on poetry. There is work of well- known masters such as Yehuda Amichai, and Leah Goldberg. There is work of a wide variety of Israelis who write in English, many of whom were inspired by the late Reuben Rose.
There is quite a bit of drivel, and amateurish nonsense.
On the whole though the occasion had a lot of life in it. I believe Mike Scheidmann is the one who gets most of the credit for having organized the conference, and put out the volume.
