I know that my love for the game of scrabble may be jading my true opinion of this product. This is my very first scrabble board game. It was a wonderful "just because I love you" gift from my husband. This is not the board that I would have chosen but I don't think he knew which one to get. He thought that it would be nice because the tiles are supposed to stay in place. Well I have no idea why the call it tile lock because the tiles don't lock. In fact they can move around quite a bit. Plus the board does it cheaply made. If you want a cheaper Scrabble board then this one will do. But I would recommend spending a little more and getting one that folds up or one with the original wooden tiles.

The name is misleading, the tiles do not actually lock in the board and the entire set is made of cheap plastic, with the bonus spaces on the board simply being stickers. We got this thinking the tiles locked so our cats wouldn't spill it, but they're still able to. We regret not purchasing the platinum scrabble board instead which looked much nicer and simply had inset spaces. If you want a travel set, just get the travel set, and if you want something non-spill that you'll be spending a lot of time playing, just get the platinum board instead.

The game is a nice size for travel and the little plastic tiles can be wiped off in the event of the inevitable spills. However, the tiles do not truly lock together so a child bumping into the table does result in everything going galley west. Otherwise it is just like ordinary Scrabble.

The board is TINY! it's almost like it was made as a travel set. I returned it because I would never play it with that small of a board.

I purchased this item along with 2 other toys. Unfortunately this is the only item I am dissappointed with from the purchase. The picture definitely makes it look better than it truly is. The concept of the locking tiles sounds like a good idea, but the tiles are hard to place on the board as they tend to flip and not fit well. You have to struggle to get the word on the board and heaven forbid if you have to lift a letter to see what score box you are on - all of the adjoining letters will flip out - needless to say it takes the fun out of it. We had a set that had wooden tiles for 27 years and ended up losing letters (and some of the letters were so worn that they were partially deteriorated). That is what prompted me to seek out this one but it is very low quality and it is on its way to the dumpster.

Tiles can fall off of this game's board easily because each play-square is surrounded only by tiny small pegs in each corner.

I've seen that other "tight-fit" Scrabble boards have a complete embankments surrounding each play-square. This structure give the tiles a stronger perimeter and makes them less likely to come loose.

I do like that you can place the tiles in place and they won't slide, but the board is cheap and with a 4 and 5 year old that we are teaching to play and spell, I can see this board not lasting long. Educationally, it'll work for us, but I wish I had bought the more durable deluxe version.

Very poorly made. The tiles do not stay on the board as advertised. Cheap flimsy board also. Love Scrabble, however, the original board and tiles are much better that this "lock" model. I returned it for credit to my account.

The board is too small, the tiles are hard to get out once you place them on the board. The tile stands are too straight . The tiles keep falling off. Definitely not travel friendly, which is what it is supposed to be.

The board is a bit too small and the tiles don't stay on as well as expected. Shifting the board still upsets them.
