This is made from high quality material that really works. As the previous reviewer wrote, "just like in the 70s." It's not made from the cheap corduroy that the other brand has switched to. It's worth every cent. It cleans deep into the grooves with little pressure. That's the way they used to work. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I'm a record collector and want the best to preserve my collection. This is it!

Overall great product, however the picture shows a lid for the felt (which is also red in the picture, not black). A lid is probably not all that important but theoretically this thing cleans dust, but with no cover won't it just collect dust while not in use? The picture also shows vinyl record cleaner, what I got was distilled water. I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not.

DOn't get me wrong, this is a great product, It's just not exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting the same thing I used to have since that's what was pictured. That one had 3 wooden pieces, one with the brush, one acted as a handle/storage compartment, and the final piece was a cover that the brush slides into.

This also came with a piece of foam for cleaning dust off of the brush which I knew a dust brush should include it, however it wasn't mentioned in the description or shown in the picture. I'm glad it included this.

This would be a five star rating if i got what i thought i ordered.

**UPDATE** 5/8/12
After using the distilled water ("record cleaning solution") I've got to say it does a really nice job cleaning the vinyl. You don't want to wipe the water off with the brush because you'll end up with wet smears on the record and a wet brush that will just make the record wet again for a few hours. After that bad idea I used a really soft no lint anti-static cloth to wipe the water off followed by a quick wipe with the brush.

Turns out the cleaner solution is DISTILLED WATER. Cloth covered "brush" not really large enough to get a good handle on it. Could so as well with a towel and water. NOT WORTH THE PRICE>

Product works like it should. Just like the record cleaners of old. That's right it is a record cleaner just like we used in the 70's.

Happy with the brush, works great with little pressure, but the bottle of "cleaning solution" is just distilled water and is labeled distilled water.

This is a must have for anyone who is looking to clean the dust off of there records. The brush really reaches down into the grooves and pulls out the dust. It also has a compartment in the brush to store the cleaning solution. I used it on all of my records and they sound awesome, some improving 100%.

Keeping this short and sweet, this does what it says it is supposed too, clean your records. comes with distilled water that actually seems to work very well. and will be easy to refill when gone. the brush is very nice. great material, no static like with other products. does come in red though, but that's the only thing wrong. The solution fits inside of the brush for easy portability. It's cheap and works better than many of the other cleaning products on here.

I wore out a Discwasher years ago (kept it as a souvenir), and this is its replacement. I intended to simply order another Discwasher, but the mediocre reviews of the current product put me off. This Crosley works like the Discwasher used to do! It simply works, and I am very happy with it. Can't understand why another reviewer knocked it - he must have gotten a lemon or something!

How people can say this is the heir to the classic discwasher's throne baffles me. This useless piece of junk just doesn't have the grooves built into the felt that allowed it to actually absorb the solution and evenly get into the grooves of the record. Also I'm fairly certain discwasher had an actual solution, not just an eye dropper full of distilled water. The pad is also too tall and square to effectively apply the "solution" or get a good angle on the disc. These defects also result in the water running across the entire surface of the pad, ultimately leaving you no dry side to reabsorb the water. I think I got better results using a rag and alcohol solution. Can't believe with the resurgence in vinyl's popularity, there still doesn't seem to be a usable disc cleaner on the market since rca decided they don't like vinyl collectors anymore.

unless you want a bottleof distilled water and something to polish your boots, i would suggest buying something else. this item is the exact definition of a ripoff. i bought this item probably for the same reason a lot of people buy this item: to get a new phono needle. see the thing is, in the item description it says that it comes with 3 EXTRA NEEDLES, only it comes with ZERO NEEDLES. do yourself a favor and do not buy this item, it's a piece of crap.
