Though this grinder does a nice job grinding my coffee beans, the switch mechanism has little margin for error. About once a week, when I try to operate the grinder, the switch will not engage and the grinder will not operate. Only after I empty the beans out and give the machine a good shake will the lid finally go on tightly and the switch will engage. I am not particularly messy. This should not happen with a 3 month old coffee grinder.
This grinder was a replacement for a seven year old Krups that I discarded due to the dullness of the blades (not surprising), but I never had a switch problem with that one, or the new Krups I bought for home. I regret not sticking with Krups.

This looks great - nice red color, but I am disappointed in its performance. My old Braun coffee grinder took 33 secs to grind coffee to espresso style fine powder. This new machine took 1 min 30 secs to grind, which is 3 times as long. The blades look dull, even brand new.
The motor is fine, probably as strong as the Braun, but the blades did not do the job.

I still find the Braun grinder superior to every other version. Note: do not buy Braun if its made in Mexico, as these versions 'leak' coffee dust into the motor - the seals are a problem. I wrote repeatedly to Braun, but to no effect. Use the Braun models made in Spain - absolutely the best! Stay away from Cuisinart, they need to improve the product.

If you love coffee and you love red this is the grinder for you. Beautiful shade of red and the great quality for the price. There is nothing like a fresh cup of coffee from freshly ground beans. Grind 'em up in this beautiful grinder and you'll enjoy that coffee even more. Kitchen gadgets are great to have but sometimes get a little cluttersome, this one with its beautiful shade of red is actually almost decorative and will look very attractive sitting on your countertop if you choose to leave it and if red is in your kitchen color scheme. I would highly recommend this product to anyone - well worth the money and not a bad price to pay for the quality you'll be getting. I love it!!! :)

Although it says in the description that the cord is easily hidable, I still haven't found a way to hide it within the grinder, since neither the manual is explaining how. Otherwise a good grinder, nice and stulish.

Chose this grinder for the Cuisinart name and the color matches the kitchen. I broke the previous grinder by hurling it across the kitchen after the weak catch on the lid opened and dumped coffee all over the counter. I was hung-over and not in the mood for complications. This one will not have that problem because the ground coffee doesn't get emptied into a lid, it stays in the unit until dumped into the brewer. Also like that you push down on the lid to start it rather than a separate button. Easy and excellent. Recommend.

I had this exact same model in white and it lasted over 15 years! Finally broke when I dropped it and replaced with this cool red color. Now it has a bigger basin too to hold beans. I have a standard drip coffeemaker and grind beans for about 15 secs for optimal sizing with the permanent filters I use. It does the job. No bells and whistles. Just an awesome high quality grinder for my morning coffee. Love.

I had just purchased a Cuisinart coffeemaker (4 cups) and ordered some coffee beans from my favorite coffee company. But what would I grind them in? Cuisinart to the rescue. I was able to match my red Cuisinart coffee maker with this little beauty. It grinds the beans without shaking, complaining, or making a racket. I like a medium grind so this was recommended for 20 seconds, which I used and I got perfectly ground beans with an aroma that just filled the kitchen. It's compact, fits into a small space, and operates simply, which I like very much. The amount of coffee it grinds is just enough for my coffeemaker so I don't really have any leftover grounds. I was not at all disappointed in this great little grinder, and neither will you be.

This small, elegant grinder really does a great job and is the perfect size for any family. It doesn't take up much space on the counter but it certainly does a big job in grinding the coffee to your exact specifications depending on just how fine you want it. You can't go wrong on the price either. Looks great next to my Cuisinart 12 cup Coffee Maker too! Love it! I'll never buy ground coffee again!

Nice grinder. I make a lot of coffee and I've had this now for a long time. It works exactly the way it's supposed to work Grinds (smashes) the coffee into evenly sized pieces. It makes the grinds very fine, like powder, which when I put into a mesh filter with a mesh bottom, makes a nice strong bold tasty coffee.
