My little girl saw the Scholastic video of Corduroy after reading the book (with Mama). She fell in love with him! She had a dream about Corduroy lost in the department store and tearfully told me that she "just had to find him to take care of him." Such a loving girl...I searched for just the right Corduroy to give her. Many are cheaply made, aren't true to the book pictures, or have sweaters (go figure) instead of real corduroy overalls. This one seemed the best. We received him today, and my daughter was thrilled! I had him gift wrapped for her with a message from Corduroy. She beamed with delight! The bear is even better than I envisioned. He is very well-constructed, with great eyes and real corduroy overalls. It's fun that they hide one of his buttons for the children to find...very magical. His size is 13 inches, and just perfect for a toddler. I'm really pleased! Also, the Amazon gift wrap was well-worth the money. Corduroy arrived in a large blue faux-suede-like bag with a silky golden ribbon. It was well done.

I am probably going to buy this product anyway and try to come up with some plausible explantions but WHY would you have Corduroy missing a button on the wrong side - and WHY would you make the buttons blue when they are not blue in the book? I decided yesterday, after reading the book aloud, for what seemed like the thousandth time, that I would check Amazon as soon as I could get to my computer to see if I could find a Corduroy Bear to give as a Christmas gift. I was so disappointed to find "almost" the perfect bear.

This little Corduroy was a gift for my 2 year old son who loves the book. The look on his face when he saw it seemed to say "Oh my! There really IS a Corduroy!!" The bear is a nice size, not too big or too small for a little person to carry around. Everyone comments on his cute green overalls. They fit just a little bit awkward, maybe a bit tight? Children love first hiding then bringing the button back out on his strap. His eyes look very bright.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase, but feel like it is priced way too high considering the bear's overall size and the fit of his pants.

I almost didn't buy this bear after reading the reviews, so I wanted to point out a couple things that were different about the bear I received. While the buttons are unfortunately blue, the correct one was "missing" on our bear. I wasn't sure how I felt about the button being completely gone, but it actually tucks into a little pocket on the strap to look "missing," but can be untucked to become a functional button that will hold his overalls together.

His face arrived somewhat smooshed; I've manhandled it a bit to try to even out its features. It's worked, sort of. Not a huge problem, but something to be aware of.

My 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter loves the Corduroy story book, so I got her this bear. She adores him, and he immediately displaced every other favorite toy. He goes with her everywhere. I have not seen the bear myself, so I can't discuss workmanship. But my granddaughter loves him, and that makes him perfect!

My son loves the Corduroy!!! He and his class read all of the Corduroy stories. Corduroy is his kindergaten's class mascot. I had to get him his own bear and now "I have two sons". He refers to the bear as his brother and spends most of his day playing with him or bringing Corduroy with him to watch him play sports etc...
I had to explain to him that there was already one Corduroy bear in his class or he would try and bring him there as well.

There are many "Teddy" bears but only one Corduroy.
Thanks.

The recipient was thrilled with this gift. The bear closely resembles the storybook bear. The one missing button just adds to the charm of this nostalgic character.

Item was perfect - wanted to get the bear with only one button. Baby (recipient) loves it and sleeps with it every night.

Does not look like the original I purchased several years ago. Quality not the same and face and eyes a disappointment

I ordered this bear because it stated it was 13" tall. This bear is 10" inches tall which wouldn't bother me so much except for the fact that a false price tag stating it was 13" was placed over the information on the plastic bag in came in that says 10 inch. I spent a lot of time searching for the largest bear I could find to use in my classroom and ordered it to arrive in time to join us when we have our Hibernating Days this week. I am sooooo disappointed and angry. You don't even need to measure this bear to know it's under 12 inches high! I paid for a larger bear but got ripped off! Not happy!
