After having 7 surgeries and arthritis in both knees, I need a shoe with a LOT of cushioning to wear. These flip-flops provide the most comfort I have ever found in any kind of shoe to include athletic shoes. I plan on buying all the colors to wear with everything. They look great and my knees dont hurt after walking around the beach or the stores. I recommend them very highly and I never before felt the need to recommend a product.

I bought these flops two years ago because of the great reviews and would never buy them again. The yoga mat material is nice and comfy when you first try them out, but they are not suitable for wearing in any kind of wet environment. The porousness of the material soaks up water like a sponge, causing the shoes to be very slippery and foam up if they get wet. What's worse is that the retained water doesn't dry out easily so the shoes smell funky over time, like old dish sponges. At the beach, the little pores get filled with sand that remains embedded indefinitely. After a year, the shoes looked old and cracked, and so it was time to buy new flip flops.

I bought my first 2 pair of Sanuk Yoga Mat flip flops 4 years ago, and for the past 4 years, I have worn them every day; and I am not exaggerating. I live in the desert, where even Flip Flops in the winter are okay. This year, after 4 years with the same original 2 pair of Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops, I thought it was time to invest (they aren't cheap flip flops) in a new pair. I bought a new pair at the beginning of June and by mid June I had a weird layer on the top of the "yoga mat" (I will call it a "skin") peeling off. The peeling "skin" makes the shoes totally uncomfortable. Did the quality of the Sanuk products decline so much in the past 4 years, that a new pair of Sanuk flip flips won't even last 4 weeks? I am thoroughly disappointed with this pair of Sanuks. Before my experience with this new pair of Sanuks, I would have given them a 5 star rating; they are comfortable, they are sturdy and they can last you 4 years. That is pretty amazing thing for a pair of flip flips to do, especially when they have been worn every day for 4 years. Too bad the new flip flops did not do so well.

I don't have much experience with Yoga Mats; I thought "hey they're soft, so these flops must feel nice!" Well, these shoes *are* squishy, but I find they aren't the best walkers - something about the yoga mat material being the wrong kind of squishy for extended walking. They make my feet hurt more than more standard flops of comparable quality. I have high arches, and hoped the squish would help there, but I see no difference between these vs other good flip flops.

And you can't get them wet! Dewey grass? Poolside puddles? NOPE. Walking in them when wet is like walking in soaked sneakers - gross squishes with every step. These things take a good 24 hours to dry if I set them directly in front of a fan.

They fit well: I'm usually 6.5 US, and the 7 US fits perfectly. They are also made well.

All in all, these are a well-made shoe, and the yoga mat material is a novel idea, but I don't think they are very practical flip-flops.

I wear the same size shoes as my sister in law. When I borrowed her Sanuk sandals I *had* to get some for myself they were so comfortable. The Sanuk sandals that I received seem to have been made out of a different material, they just were not as comfortable. The biggest problem is that they were smaller. I had my sister in law bring hers over and set them sole to sole, the ones I received in the same exact size were smaller, most noticeably narrower. The strap was also not as roomy or comfortable. I returned these sandals.

Comfortable casual thongs. More cushioning and support compared to traditional flip flops. Love the yoga mat material it's like walking on air!

I bought a pair on a fluke at a local shoe store. $30 for flip flops, really? I splurged when I put them on. The yoga mat is like a piece of heaven on your feet. I wear flip flops half the year and would buy lots of cheap ones for all the colors. Now anymore.

These are more than your average flip flop but if you have to stand on something they are so incredibly comfortable. I had one pair wearing them at our river camp for 3 years. Finally tossed those and replaced them with a brand new pair just to get dirty. I wear them with pants, skirts everything. Totally worth the bucks. Promise.

I preface this review by saying that this flip-flop runs somewhat small. If you are a half-size like me you might have a sizing dilemma. I am a 7 1/2 and own 8 pairs, yup, 8, of these flip-flops - some are size 7 and some are size 8 - and I find that the size up is just too large once they are broken in. I much rather have less roominess as I do with the size 7 and not walk off the flip-flop as I do with the larger size 8.

Now with that out of the way, here's my story...I've never been a flip-flop girl until now! I just never in my 62 years found a flip-flop in any way comfortable. But recently a dear friend who was visiting me turned me on to these Sanuks hand-made from, yeah, that's right, recycled yoga mats!

I love the concept of this yoga mat flip-flop but I love even more wearing them. With every footstep my poor feet are given a love treatment! These flip-flops couldn't be more perfect for me! I have peripheral neuropathy and plantar fasciitis and the bottoms of my feet can be very painful. I therefore need a cushy footbed, particularly for walking on the hard tile floors in my home.

I love these Sanuks so much that I stock up on them whenever they are on sale. And I always seem to find the best prices right here at Amazon. I live in a Florida beach town and there is a huge mark-up on Sanuks in the local shops where they are carried. So take my word for it...do your feet a favor and snag a few pairs of these amazingly comfortable flip-flops while the pricing is so reasonable at Amazon.

I am typically not a "flip-flop" fan but this one takes the cake!!!!! The cushion the Sanuk yoga mat flip flop provides is unbelievable. It simultaneously is able to form fit to your foot AND spring back after wearing for ultimate cushion later! Amazing footwear!

Having lived in warm climates most of life, including Hawaii, I spend most of the year wearing flip flops am a serious connoisseur. The Sanuk Yoga Mat is one of my all time favorites. I bought these last summer after trying them on in a local store that only had them in black. I couldn't justify another pair of black flip flops at the time so I left them behind, but literally couldn't stop thinking about them.

I finally purchased them from Amazon in Aqua (so many colors) and I live in them. The aqua is true to color (on my monitor). They are actually made of recycled yoga mats and Sanuk is a very eco-conscious company, which is important to me. They arrived in a reusable bag that looked like plastic but was made of non-GMO tapioca root. Bags made of tapioca root use less petroleum, energy, and water, thus producing a lesser carbon footprint than ones made of plastic. These flip flops are also vegan (meaning they are not made with any animal products or by-products). Awesome.

In addition to having had surgery on both ankles, I suffer from a chronic pain condition, so I'm all about comfortable shoes. The recycled yoga mat soles are incredibly plush, cushiony, and flexible, with a slighter firmer bottom layer that wears well. As with most flip flops, they only have the very slightest arch support, so beware if this is something you require. They soles provide plenty of shock absorption which I really notice when compared to other flip flops.

The straps are synthetic and well-made. They do not have that crappy fake leather look. The interior of the straps have an aqua and white gingham design that adds a nice detail and make the Sanuk Yoga Mat Flip Flops stand out. The piece that slips in between your toes is made of a soft canvas-like material that forms to your foot. The entire shoe can get wet without damage.

The white Sanuk branding on the heel of these flip flops wears off relatively quickly until it totally disappears. Unlike some flip flops with soft soles, these do not permanently mold to your foot but bounce back each time you take them off.

If I had the cash floating around, I would absolutely own a pair of these in every color. Considering we had an unseasonably warm winter, I've worn these flip flops almost every day and other than the tiny chunk of sole ripped off by a foster kitten (with seriously sharp teeth who chewed on everything), they still look practically new.

Buy these now. Just not in my size!
