I have had this watch for over a year now and I have had no major problems. Swiss Army makes great watchs that stand the test of time. I bought my first in 1993 and it still works great.

This watch is very handsome with a sweeping second hand (second hand doesn't "tick" from one second to the next), day of the week display up top and the date at the 6 o'clock position. I wasn't sure I would use all of the display information, but I actually do everyday when I update my voice mail ("Today is Monday the 24th and I am in..."). The face is large - like most of what has been coming out of Europe for the last few years, with a smart, clean brushed face. The overall size is on the large end, but it still looks appropirate on the hand, unlike some watches that are SO BIG that they are distracting & look almost amusing. I have the version with a black leather band which I think looks great and complements the silver face, hands, & numbers. This would be a great watch for the businessman who wants an reliable, impressive timepiece without spending a over $1000.

The only downside to this watch is the spindle is a bit large and sticks out a bit from the watch (3/16th of an inch or 5 miliimeters)and can touch the top of my hand when I bend my hand to reach for something. This isn't too bad, but it is worth mentioning. The other issue has to with self winding watches. If you have never owned one, they can be a pain if you don't wear them daily, or don't own a watch holder/winder (it rotates your watch and keeps it wound & running). Because this watch has BOTH the day & date display along with the time, you have to reset them all one at a time (first date, then day, then time) to display the right information.

Last piece of info: when I bought this watch at a jewlery store, the owner also wore this watch as his daily piece and was wearing it when I bought mine (he had the sliver band and it looked great). If this guy, who could be wearing any number of high end watches, chose this one to wear on a daily basis, that says a lot about Swiss Army & their products.

Enjoy!

WARNING - DO NOT BUY VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY!!!

Had this watch for 13 months, and was exactly what I wanted. However, it fogged up on month 13. Sent it to Victorinox for repair. The unit was purchased from an AUTHORIZED VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY seller. BUT because I bought it through their Amazon Store Front, Victorinox WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. They want around $250 for repairs. I cannot do business with a manufacturer who excludes their warranties on technicalities.

Amazon is attempting to find some type of solution to the issue. Because it was bought from a 'store front', Amazon's 2 year warranty does not apply either. I am waiting to hear back from the seller, who told me in an e-mail that they were an authorized seller for Swiss Army. I may be stuck.

WARNING - DO NOT BUY VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY!!!

This is a quality watch; well made and attractive. But, if you are like me, and not beefy with Popeye-sized forearms and wrists, you will feel like Flava Flave.

I had purchased this same watch for my other son at a jewelry store a couple of years ago for a graduation gift and absolutely loved it. When I went back to find it for my second son, they didn't have it but said they would order it. The price had gone up to where it was not feasible for me to purchase. I searched on line and found it here for $150 less than what the jewelry store was asking. Purchased it and was very please with the speed of arrival and the product itself.

I absolutely love this watch! I've had it for a few weeks and have had zero problems. The automatic movement keeps good time. The jubilee style bracelet conforms to your wrist which makes it extremely comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about the watch. Very pleased with the purchase.

Great watch. Classic styling; goes with almost anything from t-shirt and jeans to a nice suit. Perfect size. Keeps accurate time. Great build quality; it just feels like a tank, but an elegant tank.
Great value too. A quality Swiss automatic for less than many quartz watches.

This watch looks great, keeps good time (for a mechanical watch - particularly one at this price) and is the sort of watch you could have for the rest of your life

I bought this watch about a year ago. It is a great looking watch no doubt. I was surprised to see that the watch would gain 2-3 min per day! I took the watch back to Macy's where I purchased it, and was told that automatic watches are known for inaccuracy, and 1 minute/day is not unheard of. I called Swiss Army (Victorinox) and they said that they could recalibrate the watch under warranty. I sent the watch in for recalibration, and approximately 8 weeks later the watch was sent back to me. Now the watch runs slow about 2 minutes per day. When you purchase a watch for close to $1000 you expect that the watch will be accurate without daily adjustments.

I have finally thrown in the towel and just purchased a Movado Series 800 SubSea watch, that is Quartz based and looks fantastic.

If you are ok with constantly resetting your watch, you will be happy, but if you don't want to be late to meetings, etc, then this watch is not for you.
