When diagnosed with Celiac Disease I really missed eating good tasting cereals. I tried a lot of other gluten free cereals and they were not filling, would get soggy, and often were so full of sweeteners, they even left my mouth feeling raw. Perky's Nutty Flax is awesome! It is filling, not too sweet, tastes great on yogurt or can be eaten alone. And it stays crunchy for a long time, an added bonus for a busy mom in the mornings. I highly recommend this cereal for anyone with Celiac Disese that used to love cereal. In fact, I need to start buying this in bulk since the rest of my family discovered it and loves it. I is so nice that my kids, who do not have Celiac Disease, eat a healthy cereal like this.

If you like to eat cereal, are gluten free, and are also avoiding corn and oats, this is probably the best on the market. It has the crunchiness that want in a cereal and remains crunchy in milk. It's not great plain. I always add something -- bananas, dried dates, berries. Decent amount of protein for a cereal.

We have bought this cereal for years and have never had an issue. However, we just bought a box at our local Target, Best Buy Date: 12-19-2014. The cereal tastes and smells like formaldehyde. There is something seriously amiss and it made me ill. I am 100% serious. We reported it to the FDA.

This is the cereal I eat every day for it's protein and fiber. I sprinkle it on my salads now that I am a celiac and can't have croutons.

This cereal is just ok. It is good if you want a very low sugar cereal but the pellets are so tiny. It has a slightly nutty flavor but at the same time it is pretty bland (low sugar). If you want no sweetness at all in your cereal you will like this. It tastes a little bit like grape nuts but not as dense. The way I eat it is mix it with other cereals to give an extra crunch.

This is a fantastic cereal for gluten sensitive people. It not only tastes good--it also contains fiber, which is often lacking from other cereals suitable for people with gluten sensitivity. I hope this becomes available again soon!

I tried this cereal when my son was discovered to be allergic to peanuts. Many cereal manufacturers are not labeling peanut allergens, nor will they answer questions about them when you call. Post would not help at all. Then I learned of Enjoy Life and their Perky's cereals. I really liked this one. It has a slightly nutty flavor, stays crunchy in milk and when mixed in with yogurt. It is dense not lite at all. It has a good level of fiber and the flax makes it have good fats too! Plus, no unhealthy sugars. My kids like the flavor, but have problems with the size since they are little tiny balls. This cereal is great when making treats though. It works well with crispie type treats and cookies. I am next going to try it as a pie crust for the pumpkin pie this season. Amazon has a pretty good deal on the price as well. It is $4 per box at my local market at least. I'm saving about a $1 per box ordering here. I will buy again!

Those who transfer to a gluten-free diet know that getting enough fiber in their diets is a challenge. Perky's Crunchy Flax Cereal is the highest fiber gluten free cold cereal I've found (6 grams or 24% of your daily allowance in a 3/4 cup serving). (Please let me know if you've found others with 6 grams or more of fiber a serving!) For its fiber content, it gets raves! As a person who takes medication that leads to constipation and who can't eat many different fruits because I have interstitial cystitis, it's impossible to get enough fiber with fruits and vegetables alone. So, I eat this cereal every day and sometimes twice a day.

I used to eat some great high fiber cereals before going gluten free. While this cereal is a lifesaver because it is high fiber, the taste leaves something to be desired. The ingredients in the cereal are sorghum flour, ground flax seed, raisin juice, honey, and salt. That's it. I'm thrilled there aren't a bunch of preservatives and artificial things in the cereal, but I wish they'd work on improving the taste of this cereal and perhaps making it available in various flavors. As is, the cereal tastes a bit like a bland version of grape nuts. I've tried adding fruit and it helps a bit. The best I've been able to make it taste is by adding a little stevia for more sweetness and come ceylon cinnamon (safer than regular cinnamon for those with IC) to it, but that blah taste still breaks through.

The cereal stays super crunchy in milk for awhile before getting softer - good or bad, depending on what you like. There's 200 calories in that 3/4 cup serving, which is a bit high, but you are getting a lot of omega 3 fatty oils from the flax seed, so that's a nice trade off.

Aside from the taste, this is a great cereal. But come on, don't we want our cereal to taste good? That's the reason for the 3-star rating.

Gluten free cereal normally tastes horrible. Crunchy flax is fabulous. I use it as a cereal with milk and I add it to yogurt and salads. Wonderful product. I only wish that the boxes were larger.
