Wish this would work for me...
on December 1, 2009
I've heard good things about this product, but I'm living on a tight budget and didn't think I could justify spending around $20 just on a moisturizer for my face. Still, it's the holiday shopping time, and during one of my trips I took the plunge. Sadly, the $20 expense was not, in my case, a good decision. First I'll tell you what I do like about the product:
I love the smooth coverage. I could easily go without another foundation using this alone. The color is very *very* nice, and though it blends extremely well, it also manages to cover enough to even out my skin tone. I have one or two tiny freckles, and they're hidden well enough. The product also dries to a nice finish, not at all shiny. Matte, without being overpoweringly so, know what I mean?
Now, the downside. Immediately upon application, I could feel a little tingling sensation. I do have minor trouble with sensitive skin, so I'm not completely surprised. Still, I wanted to see if it would really be a problem, so I left the product on my face for roughly 20 minutes, at which time I waved my white banner of defeat. I definitely had a burning sensation, and it was severe enough that I needed to wash my face gently and thoroughly, but *right away!* Although it's a minor point, for some reason I also find the scent of Oil of Olay Definity really distasteful, even though it's incredibly mildly scented.
I like the product, but can't use it, so I will probably try to give it to someone who can tolerate it.
