I hope everyone who posted a comment on here about the characters not coming off, come back at some point and get to read this review...

This arrived a few days ago for my toddler for Xmas, but i couldn't take seeing him play with an old plastic container, opening it up with his toys stuffed inside going "Yoooo Gabbaaa!!!" anymore.... so i just thought, Imma give it to him early ; )

When i first looked this toy up and read the reviews about the figurines on top not coming off, it kinda killed it for me... but i bought it anyway, and then ordered some Yo Gabba Gabba beanie babies (which haven't come yet) that i figured he could use to really play Yo Gabba with.

Well just right now, i noticed they DO come off! There are screws in their backs, connecting them to the boom box handle. Once you remove the screws, just twist 'em right off!! They break off of their base that's planted into the boom box.

Then i just took an Xacto knife and trimmed the bases of their feet flat, so they can stand up, and carved off the little "tube" on their backs that the screw went into. DONE!!

This toy rocks, my kid hasn't stopped playing with it, gets up and dances every time the "dance" song comes on, and now that the little figurines come off, he's even MORE stoked! well worth the money!

I bought this from Target for $15.99 for my boys and they love it. The little figurines don't orignally come off the top, so we had to unscrew them, and pop them off. My boys really enjoy playing with this. So don't waste the money here, you can buy this from Toys R Us for $17.99. For that price it's a fun toy. It is a bit "cheap" feeling, but for that price, what do you expect.

I actually orded this from toys R us. You cant buy it in the store but it only cost $25 online. The figures do not come off the top and the boom box is smaller than I thought it would be. When you open it up there are card board peices inside that show the background, so far they have held up. Plex is not featured in this product which was a draw back as the child that I gave this to loves plex. The toy would be 1000 times better if it came with figures but it did not and I was not going to spend $50+ to buy them. So instead I got the cake toppers. All 5 of them fit inside. The Bath squirt toys might also work for this. The toy only plays 3 or 4 songs and there is no volume control which can get annoying but the kids love it. It is light so even at two the kids can cary it with ease. I was not unhappy paying 20-25 for it but anything more is way over priced. The bottom buttons are lights (not buttons at all) and the top is realy just one button that makes the lights and song start. the real speaker is in the back.

I bought this for my two year as she loves yo gabba gabba and I was thrilled that this featured songs from the show. I thought the figures on top came off so you could play with them but they don't. The sounds from the toy are great and loud but that is all you do with it. Also, I don't know if it is a defect with the one we bought but the doors would keep coming off and they were not easy to get back on. I would look for something with more interaction and creativity than this yo gabba gabba product as it was a disappointment. My daughter loved the music from this toy however and danced and sang along.

My 19 month old daughter loves it and carries it around, even sleeps with it sometimes. I bought an audio cable for it at RadioShack so that I can attach her ipod to it. It will play ipod music, when the mp3 setting is selected, and if you raise the volume high enough on the ipod the boombox's light will light up to the beat of the music. If you set the boombox to the regular setting then the boombox will play one of the pre-loaded Yo Gabba Gabba songs (the volume is loud for the pre-loaded songs and it cannot be adjusted). There are only about 5 pre-loaded songs but my daughter has fun pressing the button to play the next song or toggle to the next song. The boombox's sound quality is poor compared to the sound quality of an ipod deck like Bose or even the sound quality of your laptop. My daughter drops it sometimes and it still plays.

Cons: The doors do fall off easily but they also pop back on easily (for an adult). If you keep the doors closed then won't pop off.
Another con is that the boombox's play button doesn't not allow you to toggle through the ipod songs. If you want to skip a song on the ipod you have to actually do that via the ipod. I think that for the price it should have come with an audio cable for your mp3 player. Also, it runs on a non-rechargable battery - wish it could be plugged into the outlet. Plex is missing from the boombox so it's not for the huge Plex fan, if he has any out there.

Overall, it's a cute, fun toy for your little Yo Gabba Gabba fan. A little over priced for the quality.

My two year old was upset that she couldn't play with the characters, so we rigged it.

1. Unscrew the backs of each character.
2. Twist the feet until the character snaps off of the base under the feet.
3. Use a knife or scissors to cut excess off of backs and feet.
4. Use a lighter to slightly melt the feet and place them so they stand up straight.

You now have four figurines to play with.

Also, use a piece of painters tape over the speaker to make it less shrill of a sound.

The kids like it OK. It's VERY small and has no volume. If you want to listen to the same 3 songs over and over at a blaring volume, then go for it. I couldn't handle it too long. I hid it in the basement....

i purchased the yo gabba gabba boom box for my 7 month old grandson who loves yo gabba gabba. he quickly learned to press the bar to play the music. he is 9 months old now and still enjoys it daily. i do think this toy is over priced. it is cheaply constructed and has only one feature. however, my grandson LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this toy.
