I ordered this play yard for my special needs son who had pretty much outgrown his regular playpen. I wanted something that would fold down for travel but that was bigger in size for sleeping. I had ordered a Peapod Plus, but it was too confining, and the fabric was very "noisy" whenever he moved at night.

I was a little surprised when I picked it up from the post office, that the box was so small. But when I opened it up, it was great! Very easy to set up, and once I figured it out, it's very easy to collapse again. It packs into this tiny bag (smaller and lighter than a playpen because there's no bulky wheels). Even the canopy fits into a tiny pocket for storage.
I like that I can attach the canopy if he decides to be a climber. And if I used it outside, it would provide sun shade and bug protection.
Right now, it's set up in the living room and I put my son in there when I'm cooking at the stove, so that he has a safe place to play. He likes it!
The bottom is padded nicely, that he'll be comfy once we actually use it as a bed. And the sides are higher than I was expecting.
I don't think I'd use the zip open front door often, as it looks like it could be damaged if baby wasn't careful climbing in or out, especially if they were wearing shoes.
Although it was more expensive than a regular play pen, I believe that it will serve our needs perfectly, for a long time, and then we can pass it on for someone else to enjoy. It is very unique. I've never seen another one like it. I would certainly recommend it for families with twins, to save having to carry 2 playpens around. I would say that you could get at least 18 months-2 years out of it with two babies in there.

We needed something we could take outside and to the beach. So far, we've done neither, but it will be at the beach in 3 weeks. We have had it set up in the house and our 9 month old has been crawling in and out of it, playing with his toys, for a month now. We call it the space shuttle. Everything is great about it so far. Seems very well made. I love how the canopy can be completely removed, folded all the way down, folded half way or all the shut. After taking it from the bag, I thought there was no way it would go back in. It's a tight fit and do need two people to get it in there. It's doing the job so far. I'm not sure why I had to rate the educational value of it, it's a tent. But my son did learn to crawl in and out of it quickly if that counts. I even got in it with my son a few times.

If you are after a large playpen, don't get this one. When I checked the measurements against the description and manufacturers booklet it did not measure up?! Very disappointed.

I am disappointed that I have to give this item 4 stars instead of 5. My son is 15 months old and very tall. He grew out of a crib at 3 months and has been in a Graco TotBloc Pack 'N Play with Carry Bag, Bugs Quilt ever since. He is now growing out of that as well. After a lot of research, I found this cabana and my husband and I had hope that our son's sleeping situation would be solved with a large, solid pack n play.

Today this arrived and I am surprised that it is actually smaller inside than the one he has been using. I wish I had found it when he was smaller though because it would have done wonders on our trips across country and just for everyday use. We have decided to keep it even though he cant sleep in it because he has crawled in the door and wont come out. He keeps requesting toy after toyn and this seems to be the best purchase for him yet!!

I wanted to post a warning about the size though. The advertisements are misleading, but the product is amazing!

My parents-in-law gave us a Graco playpen, but after my husband tried many hours of struggle to pull it together and failed, we decided we never going to buy any heavy and complicated products if we going to use it for travel and around our house. We've got a Baby Home Dream Portable Cot, Navy for our son when he was 4 month old before we took a road trip, but now he is soon going to outgrow it, we decided it is time to buy him a travel playpen, where he can have a safe place to play and sleep in it regularly during the day at home, and using it for our road trip coming up in a couple of month. I searched up and down in Amazon and through out the web, finally someone point out this Primo Play Yard in their blog. I immediately order this one, and I am very impressed by this product.

Since Primo made this product in one-piece and it's only weight 12 lbs, all you need to do when received this product is to pull it out of its travel bag, unfold it and lock down each leg in its place, voila! My son is now trying to stand whenever he can (he pull himself up in the crib and stand for a long time!), but when I put him in this play yard, its soft fabric wall forces him to crawl and sit still inside the yard instead. He's now take naps in it when I watch him downstairs in our living room during the day. We're going to use it during our road trip in Christmas when we visit our family in another state.

I really like that this is a large play yard when open and when it is closed, it takes up a small space.

I had no problem opening and closing it by myself.

We wanted a real play yard, large enough for our 9 month old twins that we could take along if we are visiting friends or family, or even out for a visit to the beach (not a pack and play which have weird suspended floors that aren't flat and aren't big enough for more than one baby). We have used this play yard a few times now and thus far are very pleased it. We have used it outside on the grass to give the boys some fresh air, and used it at a friend's house to keep them safe in a house that hasn't been baby-proofed. It is a reasonable weight and folds out and packs easily. The sun (and bug) protection provided by the roof is very useful for outdoors use.

We got his for inside use so we have not used the canopy top. The yard has a sturdy frame. The side panels are see-through mesh, as is the entry door. As an adult, you will have to crawl into this or step over the top (27" high). It is 39" across. The floor appears to be water resistant on the outside. The door zips shut and the zipper is fastened to a holder to prevent unzipping. The door rolls to one side and you can hold it there by tying it with the 2 provided strings. Contains our 13 month old well. Has not shown any sign of damage in over a month of use.

Bought this for my 8 year old with special needs (cri-du-chat syndrome) she is wheelchair bound, we take a playpen everywhere we go for when she gets tiered of sitting on wheelchair , we have had several play pens and this one is by far the best one i love the canopy and the fact that its low we do put mats under it for protection (she bangs her head) honestly the best money spend!!!!!!! Its spacious and light weight!!!

My son will be able to use this for a long time. Great to have in the yard and keep the bugs off.
