I've had my eye on Robecca for months. I've had her Walmart holding page saved on my favorites for MONTHS (which has said 'out of stock online' FOR MONTHS). I've checked the Mattel website FOR MONTHS just to get a sales date or more information on the doll or *something* that was helpful. I've even been tempted to just give up and order Robecca on ebay. Finally I found Robecca (along with Venus and a few of the other 2012 dolls as well) at Target while I was out of state. My 6 year old and I were elated!!!

I can't begin to say how amazing Robecca is. Pictures really do NOT do justice to the details of this doll. In all honesty, I'm surprised she isn't limited edition - she has THAT much detail from her industrial blue/black gorgeous hair to her imprinted toes. Her clock theme is represented on her goggles, in her cog eyes (yep, she has liquid-copper-colored cogs painted on her irises!!!), and on the raised imprint pattern on her entire body. Her modern dress, Victorian outer hoop skirt, hatbox clock bag, cute little robot penguin, and "rocket boots" just seal her Victorian steampunk heritage.

Robecca has absolute universal appeal - great doll for ALL ethnicities (she's British too!), a must for all MH collectors, and definitely appeals to fans of literature (steam punk and Victorian genres) and sci fi. Can't wait for the characters to make their debut in the Ghouls Rule dvd!!

If you stumble upon Robecca at a good price, don't hesitate - BUY THIS DOLL!!!

My girl is nine and has never been a "doll-kinda girl." She has a slightly dark sense of humor and is more interested in science. But she seems to love this line of dolls. She is especially drawn to Robecca Steam.
While I tend to roll my eyes at the unrealistic proportion of the MH line, I have to admit they are clever. Robecca Steam, as the daughter of "The Mad Scientist" is really very cute. Her outfit and gear reflect the Steampunk genre that is so popular. The designers of these dolls are very creative and my girl loves the attention to detail.
She isn't really old enough to remember the old scary movie monsters these doll reference, so it has been fun discussing and watching some of the old movies with her.
I recommend this line to anyone who has a little pre-teen or tween. The dolls are delightfully new ideas and have resulted in some very creative play for my daughter.

Details:

Head - Bolts covering the upper forehead and dark black eyebrows with personified robotic expression on face. Irises of eye are copper cogs. Lips are a deep purple color.

Torso - Simulated bolted metal sheets covering torso excluding flesh toned underwear lines, like the other dolls...

Legs and Feet - Simulated bolted metal sheets covering entire leg and feet area. knees are capable of bending forward like a raptor...

Joints: On my personal doll the left arm if doll is facing me is loose at the elbow, all the other joints were snug. If you want to get her blue watch bracelet off you will need to remove her hand from its joint and slip it off, then replace the hand.

Clothing: What she is wearing is actually a dress with the cage skirt over it. Boots and goggles are exquisitely detailed. Rockets on the bottom and on the calve area of the boots are plastic and realistic. Earrings are cogs and gears. Her purse is a clock that opens. Captain Penny, her pet, is well made and durable.

Robecca Steam is just under 11 inches with her rocket boots on her feet and her goggles on her head. Without these items she stands 10 inches. Her hair frays and tangles at the first brushing so a (small!) amount of oil, (two finger dabs worth) like coconut oil will help her keep her curl pattern a bit better and the hair will lay down. Overall Robecca Steam is a great toy. Very well made and amazing fun details. Personally I think she is too cute!!! :)

I bought this doll for my 6 year old daughter for christmas. She is having a blast playing with the doll in her monster high school set. The doll take's on a victorian theme with a modern edgy look to it. Also Robecca got a thing for clocks. The doll complextion is copper along with her earrings, boots and goggles. Her hair is blue and black matching her leather dress with a victorina hoop skirt attach on the outside of her outfit. Her eyes, goggles, boots, earrings and hat box has the clock theme on it. Her makeup is simply gorgeous and her body has a lot of deatail art work on it. This doll is very well made and beautifully crafted. She also come's with a doll stand, diary and pet Penguin named perry. I recommend this doll for all you monster high fans, buy this doll you will not regret it. Your kids will hug you and kiss you for this doll, with a big smile on their face.

Upon receiving my Robecca Steam doll I was thrilled, her beautiful complexion, eye details (her pupils are gears) and riveted body make her by far the most detailed Monster High doll to date. Originally, after seeing promotional images, I was a little disappointed with her design, that all changed after I saw other collector's personal pictures of her.

Her body sculpt is simply stunning, with rotating gears on the back of her calves and a heart shape on her chest, I enjoy her very much. I simply love to look at all the small details including her awesome boots, bird cage (the thing around her waist) and purse. While her accessories are a bit plain color-wise (I wish they had some painted details), they are highly detailed sculpt-wise and can be distressed to make up for it.

As for her outfit and accessories, the purse actually opens and the bolero is separate from the top which is separate from the skirt. I always like to know if the outfits are separates, so that's why I figured I would mention it. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and I hope that Mattel keeps up the quality that they exhibited with this girl!

Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope it helped!

Robecca Steam has blue and black hair which is curly. It comes with steam punk, goggles, well I'll say she wears a blue floral dress and has rocket shoes. Sometimes her legs bend funky. Her skin is like a robots of course which is why her name is Robecca. She comes with a purse that looks like a clock. She also has a mechanical little pet penguin named Captain Penny. Her hair is medium length, not hard to brush. She has dark blue eye shadow and dark purple lipstick. Not very many problems with this doll except for the leg problem. Her skirt looks a bit like a cage.

I'm going to keep this short. I am a professional adult who was first turned on to the Monster High dolls because I am very intrigued by the Dios de la Muertos holiday. I purchased Skelita Calaveras on a whim because I thought she would be a cool addition to my work desk (I am an artist, so it's a little crazy). Once I received her, I was impressed with the detail in these dolls, and have been considering buying another one. I've had my eye on Robecca Steam for some time, and ordered her the other night, and I do not regret it! The detail in this doll is AH-mazing... hello, her irises are sockets! The hair is gorgeous, although it sheds heavily, as does my Skelita doll, so I'm not too worried. Her pet, Captain Penny, is an adorable addition. Her blue hair is a beautiful contrast to her dark skin, and her clothing is also very detailed... not to mention the moving cogs on the back of her calves. The net/net... buy this doll. You won't be disappointed. BTW - this seller shipped ridiculously fast.

Another adorable doll from Mattel! My daughter doesn't really know what steam punk means but she doesn't have to understand the doll's background to love it! She really likes Robecca's boots but isn't a big fan of the blue clock purse and the bulky blue accessories. She took those off first thing and said Ick! I think she loves the penguin pet most of all and plays with him more than any of the other pets belonging to the Monster High school kids. I think the attention to detail on the body is great and looks like she's really put together out of pieces of copper. The glasses are better suited as a headband and are solid plastic in a copper color and do not have clear plastic lenses like the glasses worn by Ghoulia or Jackson so you cannot see her eyes. My daughter says she hopes Robecca gets her typewriter some day, too.

Okay. So. What I love about MH's Robecca Steam is her level of detail and the fact that she represents Steampunk sooo well. The little details are numerous. She has gears painted on her eyes, her rocket boots are snazzy as hell, her dress has a victorian-meets-modern look to it, her skin is plated with lining detail and itty bitty bolts, and she even has gears on the back of her legs! I also looooove the little cage skirt around her hips. How cool is that thing? Not to mention Captian Penny is an especially cute robo-penguin. I love the shine to her copper skin just the general look of her. She's a sight to behold!

Now. Onto the things I wish Mattel could've improved upon.

I wish they would've added more color to her purse because the design is so cool but the overal plain blue does nothing to enhance it. I also wish they would've went with a warmer color for her overall scheme instead of the electric blue. Maybe like an off-white or some cream color would've been nice. Maybe even red! It's a small complaint though seeing as she's still pretty nifty in copper and blue.

I haven't had eny durability issues with her and I've had her for a week now. I play with her hair alot because after brushing it out it looses some of it natural waviness but I'm sure there's a way to style it so it looks more accurate. Her goggles are kind of a pain to put back with the rubberband if you happen to take to them off though.

Overall, I'm very pleased with Robecca. <3

Robecca Steam is just as beautiful as some of her counterparts. My daughter loves her! My only complaint is how easily some of these dolls come apart, though it is mostly a quick fix, I get tired of putting them back together constantly.
