I bought the pink cotton candy furby from toys r us for $44.00 dollars. They had $10.00 dollars of the orginal price, which is $54.00 bucks, the deal was for black friday. The furby takes 4 double A batteries and it last around four days, depends on how much you interact with furby. Furby do not have an on and of switch, he will just fall to sleep when you stop playing with him. He is so cute and cuddly, you will fall in love with him. Your furby will take on your personality . For example if you pet his head, rub his belly and feed him regularly he will be good and loving. If you neglect him by not feeding him, holding him upside down and pulling his tail, he will behave badly. So don't let to much people handle your furby because his personalty could change. If his personalty change and he becomes bad, it will take about 6 days of petting his head and hugging him to change him back. If furby turns bad he will turn evil and he will make farts and burps noises and say mean stuff like Oh my God. Furby do recongnize if his owner is a boy or a girl and changes his voice to suite. So basically your furby is going to be a reflection of you. It do respond to music by rocking side to side. The furby also speak furbish and in time will speak english, one word at a time. You can also download the furby app so you can understand what he is saying. So you can talk to him in furbish and english. By looking at the the furby eyes you can tell how he is feeling. I will say buy it you will not regret it.

The properties of Furbies are pretty well known... They provide unique fun with the appearance of "learning" abilities, and somewhat unpredictable behavior. Great fun for "kids" of all ages!

The latest models, with the topknot, come in a number of quite striking color combinations, I likely would have ordered the "Cotton Candy" (pink/Teal) colors, but the "Starry Night" (blue/yellow) version was the most appealing to my wife (yes, we are older "kids"). VERY CUTE TOY!

For reference, there appear to be six of the newer topknot Furbies: Starry Night (blue/yellow), Cotton Candy (pink/teal), Orangutan (orange/blue), Lagoona (teal/purple), Punky Pink (black/pink), and Raincloud (gray/teal). All with striking color schemes.

Compare these to the "original" 2012 colors (no topknot): White, Black, Yellow, Orange, Teal, and Purple plus the later release of; Pink, Dark Purple (Plum), Aqua and Navy Blue... it is difficult to make a choice!

I'm guessing that we may soon become a "multiple Furby" household! :)

Updated Dec 6; added color description to the names of the "topknot" Furbies, reflecting current Amazon practice.

Furbies have been around since 1998, if you can believe it. So if you have been a following these interactive little creatures over the years, you may be curious as to what has changed or been added to the latest version. Here are the differences:

1. There is now on iOS app available for Apple devices. This lets you virtually feed the Furby and access some Furbish language tools. As of this writing, no word on an Android app though.
2. The new Furby automatically turns itself off after one minute to save of battery life. There used to be an on/off switch - this has been replaced with a reset button.
3. It also adapts its personality to how its owner treats it.
4. It is more expressive overall with its new LCD eyes and a larger variety of motions.

Like every other fad Christmas present, the furby got lots of attention for 2 weeks.... now he sits on the top of our bookcase saying nothing and probably providing unfettered access for the Furby Ops division of the Government to spy on us.

I was leary about purchasing this, but my daughter LOVED it. It was very cute, and she has had a blast with it. Goes great with the iPod Touch app. The eyes lit up are pretty cool to. Looks to be very well made.

My 4 year old daughter absolutely loved this toy! Its very cute and cuddly and speaks its own cute little language in response to the kids talking to it. Its eyes light up and as my daughter put it can be used as a flashlight in the dark. Its personality changes based on how you treat the toy. If you sing to it a lot it will have a musical personality and hum and sing songs a lot. If your mean to it, it will become mean and crabby and growl at you. It changes rather easily between personalities and seems to have the ability to merge multiple personalities together. My daughter played with this like it was the only thing she got when she had gotten several other gifts as well. It even made her older brothers jealous and both of them wanted one!!! Totally recommend this toy to everyone! It takes 4 AA batteries and if you leave the toy alone for a short period of time it will fall asleep and not annoy everyone around.

My son and daughter love their furbies and could play with them for hours. Fun, cute, and made well.
If you have and ipod/ipad/iphone, the app for feeding and interpreting what you furby says is a great
help in teaching your furby, although it is not necessary. I would definitely purchase another one
if I can think of an occasion to do so.

besides the price, I'm happy, my granddaughter loves the furby, I bought one at target for 45.00, but could not find one pink, she wanted a solid pick one but unable to, and theres no way to down load apps, as many have complained, what child has OS or adult for that matter. She had two furbys now and to my dismay, the batteries don't last long. I used the recommended duracel, as I learned along time ago they are the best for electronices. My daughter had two furbys and loved them, she was killed in an automobile accident 2 years ago, but I was not surprised her daughter would like the toys as well, thank you for sending them in a timely fashion, as my granddaughters birthday is 28 December, so the furby from target was for Christmas and the one from Amazom was right on time for her birthday, thanks again from a loving grandmother.
