***UPDATE: I still believe this to be an excellent product and I know several folks who have had no issues with reliability - but my second E05 just bit the dust - just quit working. I purchased them from outside sellers via Amazon and sellers are responsible for supplying service for Fenix. After 5 days, I have not heard back from the seller of my most recent purchase but they may be in New York and unavailable to provide service due to Hurricane Sandy.

I've got TOO many flashlights but I never had one that was just right to carry on a keyring - - many were the right size but too dim - - many were bright enough but too bulky and / or threw a beam that was narrow.

This one has a lens system that makes the beam broad and soft - perfect for close work. It's plenty bright at about 30 lumens but not so bright as to be overpowering in total darkness.

In my own test, one AAA Alkaline battery can give you two hours of bright light plus another hour of useable light. For most users, that means a year or so of looking for keys and finding things under the seat of the car.

As with all Fenix products, it's well built. If you want something really bright but not small, take a look at the Fenix TK-41, TK-60, or the monster TK-70. I own them and have reviewed them as well.

You'll like this one!

I wanted a small flashlight that was waterproof and still bright. Got this flashlight and dropped in a bucket of water turned on. Its bright and continues to work - and its tiny!

I've had this on my keychain for a month now, and it's easy to forget it's there, which is a good thing. It's slightly smaller than a tube of Chapstick. It doesn't get much smaller than that for a powerful, durable one cell flashlight.

I especially love the fact that it can stand up on its end to be a candle, and it is powerful enough to be effective in that role. But for the most part, it makes the perfect backup light for any situation.

It comes nicely packaged with a tiny keyring and spare O-ring. It is bezel twist activated, and I've had no problems with it twisting on in my pocket. Very sturdy construction and well engineered.

It's a little on the expensive side, but I'd still buy it again (I bought it at 20 bucks). The size, power, and fact that it takes AAA batteries make it indispensable!

This is a high-quality, very small flashlight, really bright enough for most situations particularly travel, though for some, illuminating a restaurant menu, almost too bright! I did get a trio of these as thank you gifts for some of our key nursing personnel.

I got this light after reading a few recommendations and good reviews, both on Amazon and elsewhere. I was looking to replace the crappy dollar light on my keychain with something a little more reliable. My criteria was:

1. Doesn't significantly add to size or weight vs. my current "standard keychain" LED light.
2. Uses a standard battery that can be easily replaced around the world. I hate it when I have to be stingy with my flashlight use because I know the light will die as soon as its battery dies -- especially when I'm away from home.
3. Can be used to walk on a non-paved path in total darkness without having to wave it around too much.

This light does all that and more. It's just over the length of your standard household key, and it's very light, so it doesn't add much to your keychain. The AAA battery is pretty much as universal as it gets. And the light is surprisingly bright for its size; plenty for EDC (every-day carry) needs.

If you're going to spend a lot of time in the wilderness or in third-world countries, get the bigger and much brighter E11. But if you live in a city where your primary use of the light will be to find stuff that fell under the table, this is your light. Well worth the price.

I have more flashlights than I probably should. I have a black E05 which fits great on my keychain
and provides plenty of light. My wife loves this purple version.

Because the lens of this flashlight diffuses or "spreads" light, you can see more at night with this light than many large flashlights. Because this flashlight is tiny, and weighs next to nothing, you can bring it with you everywhere. Ounce for ounce, one of the best, most useful flashlights in the world. In an expensive neighborhood where I live, which has many large trees, but little in the way of street lights, this flashlight can light both sides of the street. If you look at the picture of the light on this page, you can see that the lens is cris-crossed to send light everywhere. If you are in an underground garage at night, you can light up a wide area. The trouble with many powerful beam flashlights is that they provide much light along a narrow beam, but you cannot see well to the left and right where who knows what might be lurking. So, this flashlight should be a necessity for some people.

Small, easy to use, and bright. Goes well with a purple Spyderco ladybug. Nice combo for birthday, mother's day, anniversary, etc.

The flashlight is of Fenix quality, and overall a good light. I spent quite a bit of time trying to activate the 3 different output levels. I had gotten this for my girlfriend who through out the package before I got home. After some time I figured out that this is an older model, having only single output, and not the 2014 edition. While technically the seller never claimed the light to be the current model (2014), I feel it somewhat misleading to not disclose this being I purchased it 8 months in to the year 2014. If you are looking for this model, you're in luck. If you want the 3 out puts the 2014 offers, look elsewhere.

I so love this light though you should replace the ring as it isn't sturdy. The light is small, easy to attach to my keyring or camera strap and is very bright considering its size. The light casts an even glow so is perfect for when I am wanting to add just a touch of light in a specific area of an image. I love the color, the fact that it is so small and takes triple A batteries. I also use it for when I go to my car as it helps in dark areas. I have a mini mag light and would choose this one over it in a heartbeat.
