The worst pair of shoes I ever purchased
on January 26, 2014
First, I want to make it clear that I'm a big fan of New Balance shoes - I've worn them for many years and they've always fit perfectly and were of high quality. I usually buy middle of the pack New Balance shoes as sold in the local discount shoe stores. This time, I decided that if those shoes were great, these top of the line models would be superb. What a mistake! These shoes were advertised as D width and labeled as D width. Out of the box, they looked extremely narrow and holding them up to my other shoes showed that the soles and uppers were 3/8 to 1/2" narrower than the other D width NB shoes I have. When I put them on, they were so narrow that I could barely squeeze my foot into them, even with the thinnest socks I own. The laces were also very odd - flat white as we used to see in athletic shoes, but strangely stretchy and much too long. These are beyond a doubt the worst shoes I've ever tried. The name "Classic Sneaker" is exceptionally misleading - I've been buying "sneakers" for 60 years and these shoes bear no resemblance to any of those. Run away from these!
