So here's the deal. I've read just about every review there is on every floor steamer that exists. I've used old school mops, swiffer wet jet (useless) and even hands/knees with sponges and magic erasers. After my first use, i stared at the floors and was a bit disappointed. However, after really looking at the floor under bright natural light, I realized that all the streaks I was seeing were a result off all the old pinesol/swiffer/orange glo/pledge I was blasting off my hardwoods. With this in mind, I conceded to a double scrubbing and was pretty happy with the results. Now that I've used the steam mop a couple of times, I'm amazed with how clean/non-sticky my floors are. While The first few times may have been a bit more time consuming, i now find that my mopping time is literally 1/4 of what it used to be. Maybe even more impressive is that I've found myself mopping the floor at least every other week whereas it used to be put off to a once every other month, with spot treatments as needed. To address some of the concerns, yes, you do have to vacuum first, and if there's a huge mud clot on the floor you're going to have to scrape off the bulk. I'd say for the price it can't be beat.

Title says it all -- I love it! Easy to use, heats up quickly and does a great job at cleaning. I used to have the Eureka Enviro Steamer (yellow) which was bulky and did not a good job of getting into corners and up along the edges of the floor. The Shark glides along and reaches under cabinets and the lip of the stove and refrigerator. I love the pad for the professional vs. the deluxe Shark. The professional pad has little "fingers" all over it which does a super job of cleaning the toughest dirty floors. I have two toddler boys who spill everything on the floor. This machine has saved my life!

I have been using this for months. Each time I used it my floors become cleaner and cleaner. I have given up on my Swiffer Wet Jet because it smells awful and really used alot of pads to get my floor half way clean and leaving a residue. This version comes with enough pads to do all of my tile (three baths, kitchen & foyer). It may not remove everything on your first use, but it takes it off in layers. The Swiffer residue built up over the years. When I use the steam mop the floors feel very clean now. There is no odor. I throw the pads in the wash with a little bleach and the come out clean. The first time I used them they were a dark grey, now they don't pull off as much scum because they did their job. I had read about previous versions that had wimpy handles, but this one is very sturdy. The pads go on very easily, but you do have to wait for a cool down. I have even used it on my shower floor to remove scum that that gotten stuck in the grout. It is a work in progress getting better with each steaming. I do love steaming my tile floors, but don't understand the carpet cleaner, unless it is to sanitize only.

I got this mop on sale at Costco a couple of months ago. The first couple of times that I tried using it, I was disappointed. I set the mop to the heaviest "scrub" setting, and it still wasn't getting up even small spots on the floor. If I hovered over the spot for 45 seconds to a minute, it might start coming off... but it was disappointing and time consuming to say the least. The third time I used the mop, I decided to dampen the mop head with warm tap water before starting to scrub. Wow! It made a huge difference!! And my floors ended up spotless and squeaky clean (and the mophead completely saturated with dirt on both sides)! Get the mop head wet, and you won't be disappointed! (unless of course you want to clean your floors without getting them wet, but in my opinion, that just isn't possible ;)

I've been looking for a floor cleaner that would clean the crevasses in my stone flooring. Heavy machines hurt my back for weekly cleaning, small automatic cleaners that use pads and spray chemicals don't get into the deeper portions of the floor. Also, I don't like drying the floor with an additional towel so we can walk on it right away.

So when I saw a commercial for this product I thought "what the heck" and bought it. I thought that it would be fine for daily dusting, but had my doubts that it would clean that well, and figured the pads would become prohibitively expensive, but I had to try it.

I can't comment on the pads as yet, but one pad worked well for all three areas, and is still not too dirty to use on the other side next time, but I do tend to clean my floor regularly. An especially dirty floor might need more than one pad.

It's easy to assemble, heated up quickly, comes with an extra long cord so you can clean more at one time without unplugging, and the hot steam lasted through the bathroom, dining area, and kitchen.

I had it on the scrub cycle through the entire cleaning just to test how long the water in the reservoir would last. When I was done, I had 1/4 of a tank full left, which was better than I expected! (call me Doubting Thomasina)

I have two small parrots and their droppings are notoriously hard to clean up; usually I have to use a paint scraper on the dried stuff. This cleaned it up easily, and cleaned even in the deepest crevasses.

The floor was immediately ready to walk on, and it's squeaky clean... literally, my bare feet squeak on it, and the floor glows.

I would highly suggest this product, make sure you use it as instructed, and use only filtered or distilled water in the tank so you don't leave hard water residue on the floor.

Wow.. after having used the very good regular steam mop by Shark, I saw in Sam's the professional model and before purchasing it checked the few reviews I could find online. They looked good so for $100 I purchased it but kept it in the box because I really do not think I had enough hard floor space until I got my 2 cats and then out of necessity I decided to open the box and try it out..

Wow am I glad I opened the box and decided to try it as now I am using it every day and my floors have never been cleaner. Indeed the new fingers on the pads make a huge difference from what I remembered with the original mop, and just the fact that the steam comes out at 3 different levels makes it that much more useful to me. Of course with this professional model the steam is emitted without pumping as with the previous model and that is good too.

Finally, I took the temperature of the steam with my thermocouple and it was more than 220 degrees and perhaps that is also why the floors dried so quickly even after using the "scrub" cycle.

In conclusion, after having used this I am as impressed with it as I am with the Shark Navigator vacuum that I have used for the past 2+ years and will most likely purchase the new lift-away soon.

I saw this product on an infomercial at my doctors office two months ago. I was very intrigued as I have two loveable wiener dogs who often have accidents in the house. I needed something that was quick and something that was easy to use. I tried the string mop and bucket and that lasted for a year until the strings started falling. I than moved to mop pads and the mop with a ringer built into the handle but they grocery stores run a scam where they stock new mop pads every three months so you have to re-buy the mop/ringer part or buy 20+ pads ahead of time. Finally I had enough and said lets give this a try. The price point worried me and I was very skeptical however after reading the directions for 8 minutes I was mopping like a pro. Typically my wife would sweep and mop the floors but now its so easy I do it so I can get some chore points on my score card. I think in the years we have been married I have mopped maybe 10 times. This is so easy I have mopped all the floors five times in the last two months. Make sure you purchase the manufacture mop pad replacements because the cheaper pads they sell are in fact cheap in quality. This mop is a life saver especially when the dogs miss the litter pan or they have to go to the bathroom while I am at work and am not there to enforce their training. Mopping my floor takes about 10 minutes per room(it used to take 40 minutes a piece and 20 minutes for the bathrooms) or less as the mop glides over the floor easily and quickly. I don't used the distilled water like they tell me to because I would rather clean it out by hand a year from now than waste money on distilled water. I really highly recommend this mop to anyone who is looking for the easy button on floor cleaning. I use this mop on tile, linoleum, slate, and hard wood and it works wonders. I even did the mop with the standard mop test than after it dries I went back over it with the shark and it picked up three times as much dirt and grime that was apparently still left on my floors. This particular kits comes with everything you need and the best part is there are no accessories that you need except extra pads and you only need those if your like me and only do a bi weekly laundry.

I personally love this mop! My husband bought it for me recently and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It not only cleans my floors wonderfully, but the handheld steamer has helped me clean so many hard to clean areas of my home. I have had no issues whatsoever with the handheld steamer not producing steam or spiting out water like many other reviews state. I had a nasty spill in my fridge that I couldn't get up. I had tried hot water, bleach, comet, you name it. Nothing worked. When I got this steamer, I simply held the handheld part over the spill and I literally watched it melt away. All I had to do was wipe it with a dry cloth. I have even been able to freshen up smelly mattresses with it. I would definitely recommend this!

I built our house new 6 years ago, so I know what the floor looked like then. Until now I have been using WetJet floor cleaner to clean the hardwood and tile. It seemed nice after cleaning, but would dirty up quickly. I figured that was normal.

Decided to go for a steam mop since we have a infant who has started to crawl and liked the idea of no chemicals. First cleaning, on scrub mode, was disappointing to say the least and streaked like crazy. Floor was sticky, streaky, and looked bad. Did a immediate 2nd cleaning that was only slightly better. I was discouraged and almost returned the steam mop, but hung in there. The 3rd and 4th deep cleanings finally started to show the difference. Finally the floor was looking and feeling clean. It just took several proper cleanings to erase the 6 years of improper cleaning.

I'm now on about my 10th cleaning and can say that the floors look and feel as clean as they did when new. The best thing is that they don't get dirty as quickly. Previously they would be looking dirty in a week, but now they still look clean a week later and I only clean them to disinfect because of the crawling infant. My guess is the lack of chemical residue left behind after drying doesn't attract the dirt like before and the floor stays cleaner longer as a result.

Huge bonus was realized today when as I was cleaning my infant son was crawling on the still damp floor. No worries as it is only water and no closing off the cleaning area to traffic any more. I actually cleaned right around him as he was sitting on the floor watching me.

I highly recommend a steam mop and the Shark has been excellent. Never realized how much the chemical cleaners left a residue behind. Just stick with it and give it a chance. You won't be disappointed.

I have practically tried them all. The Shark Professional Steam Pocket Mop has a water tank that fills from the top, so it is very easy to empty ALL of the water from the tank when you are finished. It has 3 steam settings which are all wonderful. The steam is HOT and my tile floor does not streak, nor does the mop leave it wet (even set at the hottest setting.
The one really nice feature about this model, is the constant steam. You do not have to pump the handle, as in previous models (which I have also owned). You simply mop.

So far, so good and my floors are cleaner than they have been with the prior models.
