If you go to WALMART, you can buy the HV300 NLS SHARK ROCKET for $149.00 . Looks identical! Same weight, size and brushes. Its body head is blue and it also is self propelled. I can't find any difference between this one and the HV300. What I do know is I just brought home the HV300 from WALMART, and WOW!!!! WHAT AN ANIMAL! My old Hoover Flair just snapped at the head in exactly the same place as the last Hoover Flair I owned which sent me on a research trip for a stick vac of some sort. Consumer Reports did not rate the HV300, but rated the Hoover Flair fairly high, but indicated that it breaks in exactly the same spot as my previous 2 Flairs. I have had tremendous luck with my Shark Cordless Hand helds so I took a chance on this stick vac. On the box it says it is just as powerful as a Dyson and the NLS stands for, No Loss Of Suction. Well I plugged this thing in and couldn't believe it! It actually pulled me across the room. It has two rug speeds and it was so powerful I was comfortable with the lower speed. This is a corded machine and very clever in its design to swap the main head on the various attachments. I was extremely impressed on what it picked up. I have a Hoover Upright Platinum for my regular vaccum because it is lighter in weight than the conventional killer Hoover Wind Tunnels I was breaking my arms over. I almost want to say that this SHARK is more powerful than my Hoover Platinum. I'm very happy that I bought this machine. Now go to WALMART and get the HV300 FOR $149.00.

My wife and I own a $1500 Kirby and it was so heavy so we bought an LG Kompressor upright. It seemed to do a great job and we loved the wiper inside that compacted the dirt so you did not have to empty as often. But after a couple of years it developed an annoying squeak and it started leaving lines in the carpet. We saw the commercial for the Shark Rocket Ultralight and decided to order one. Well it took over a month for the backorder to clear up and we finally received it.

Upon opening the box, I was a little disappointed in the width of the head as it is a little on the narrow side but how did it work is what I was concerned about. Very easy to put together, took less than a minute. Turned the unit on and boy was it loud! But how did it clean? We took the LG and vacuumed the carpet in all 3 bedrooms and the office. (Tile in the rest of the house). Then we took the Shark and started the test. Even though we had just vacuumed the master bedroom with the LG, the Shark was pulling dirt up and it was filling up the rather small dirt canister. The Shark was blowing the LG Kompressor away and we were amazed/shocked at the dirt not being picked up by the LG. The dirt storage canister is smallish but it is very easy to open the door and let the dirt fall into the trash compactor. This thing rocked!

Next we started on the tile floors. It was picking up dog hair effortlessly and I even threw down empty sunflower seed shells as a test. Picked it all up with no problem. I did find it did not like picking up a 4 inch piece of grass from the tile floor. It would kick it out from under the vac on the slick tile, but on carpet grass was zero match for the Shark Rocket Ultralight.

Needed to switch things up and use the unit to do the ceiling vents overhead in our ceiling. Well it is only weights about 5lbs which is not heavy but not paper lightweight either. After removing the floor cleaning head from the wand, I was very easily able to lift it above my head and with the cleaning attachment brush, I was able to clean the ceiling vents and it was easy and did a great job. I am a male and for some females it may not be as easy but I used one hand to clean these vents and I have 9ft. ceilings and I am 5'10" tall.

We purchased the extra attachments and other than the auto attachments which are WORTHLESS, the other attachments come in very handy. I have multiple ceiling fans in our home and with the bendable, adjustable brush attachment that I used to clean my overhead ceiling vents, i was able to quickly and easily do the ceiling fan blades. I did have my wife use the broom handle to keep the blades from moving.

Now the one thing i hate to clean in our home is our woods blinds which we have many of. I took the motor/cleaning unit and attached the adjustable brush again and was able to easily and I mean quickly do all the blinds in our home in less than 1 hour on both sides of the blinds. Because it takes so long normally, the blinds do not get cleaning but once a year, maybe twice. The Shark was cleaning the dust and dirt off the blinds so quickly and easily that our blinds will now get a quarterly cleaning at least. Once again, the dirt canister was filled up with all the blind dust/dirt. This vac is worth buying just for blind cleaning.

Now one of the attachments has a bare floor head that a cloth pad attaches to and as you are sucking up hair/dirt from your bare floors, you are also using the pad to clean the floor even more. This does a great job of actually wiping dust and dirt off the floor.

Well after reading countless Shark vac reviews on other Shark vacs, I am also a Shark Vac customer for life. Their products are reasonably priced and they do an awesome job. We also have a Shark floor steam cleaner and after owning 2 of the top rated steam cleaners on the market, the Shark beats that brand of steam cleaner also. The Shark products do not feel like a $1000 high quality machine will feel. They are made to be as cheap as possible yet do the job and that is what Shark does better than anyone else in my opinion. And the loud noise that the Rocket makes, what noise?! It is loud when you first start using it but after using it the first time and seeing the fantastic results that it gives you, you really do not notice the sound of it anymore. Today, I took the Shark head, attached the upholstery brush and vacuumed my 8ft. pool table top and rails. Yes it did a great job just as I expected.

So I hope this review helps. Every time I use a Shark product I am amazed at how well the product actually works, better than "leading brands". I highly recommend the Shark Rocket Ultralight and with a 5 year included warranty, what have you got to lose, but the dirt?!

I did forget one last thing. Taking this vac and adding/removing attachments to it/from it, from floor unit to handheld unit, is so easy, you will wonder why every vac maker cannot makes theirs just as easy. And if you do not want to put the wall attachment up to hang the vac, you simply take the head off and hook it on the front of the suction tube at the bottom and it sits nicely in almost any space.

I don't take the time to review products. I read them but always forget to write reviews. Well this vacuum is so amazing I am taking the time to write one. I purchased the dyson stick vacuum before this one. While it had decent power, it only ran 20 minutes. Then it had to charge for 4 hours before using it again!!! I took it back and purchased this one. Wow!!!! It's so amazing! It picks up everything. It has so many attachments (including tiny ones for a computer keyboard etc). It's really the only vacuum you need. It's lightweight so I can take it up and down my steps. Then it can turn into a powerful handheld!!! But like everything it has some drawbacks. 1. There is a cord. But I would much rather deal with a cord then a twenty minute run time. 2. You need to mount it. It is top heavy so it's hard to stand up by itself. But it will if you're careful and it comes with parts to mount it. Overall it's the best vacuum I have ever used. I have purchased many. I currently own a dyson animal, oreck, Rowena stick, and a shark canister. This is the best one by far.

I'm not going to write a lengthy review as I often do about a product that I like a lot, especially if others have already shared that opinion. However, in this case, I just want to point out that I have no affiliation with Shark, so my opinion is untainted.

This is a great product, by far the best of all the Shark products I've purchased.

It works as advertised. It's well engineered, balanced, relatively lightweight, and totally functional. At seven pounds, it's easy to haul up and down stairs, even if you're short or not particularly strong (our old, over-rated Dyson upright was heavy as a cinderblock, and, since the carrying handle was placed altogether wrong to carry up stairs at arms length, impossible for my wife to carry up stairs).

The small canister empties easily with the touch of a button, but not so easily that you can accidentally jettison the canister's contents. The two main filters are easily removed for cleaning and are washable by hand. The construction is sturdy, sturdier than many of Shark's older products. The self-propulsion is well-designed, as is the maneuverability of the carpet head. The beater bar is even engineered with a built in groove to guide a scissors for cutting off animal hair that wraps around it.

I haven't yet used many of the attachments, but they, too, appear well designed and constructed.

Thanks to the Shark Rocket, the old Dyson is now serving someone well as a boat anchor.

I received this vacuum as a gift yesterday. I had already vacuumed my house with my $2000 Kirby, but wanted to try the new vacuum. I literally filled up half a garbage bag with dirt and pet hair that my Kirby had missed! I thought my carpet needed to be shampooed, but after using the Shark it now looks brand new. I have been walking around my house just flabbergasted all day. I thought my house was clean, and thought Kirby was the best. I was SO wrong! This is the best vacuum I have ever used.

Picked this up at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It retails there for $170 but with the 20% of coupons we always get from them, it came out to less than $150 after tax. Walmart also sells this item. It's listed as both item # HV300 and HV301. Both are the same, the varying number indicates which retailer the model goes to.

In any case, read a few reviews elsewhere about holding the weight of the vacuum as opposed to pushing the weight of the vacuum with a traditional model. The weight or carrying the vacuum did not bother me at all. My wife who hates/never vacuums even started vacuuming with this thing and I couldn't get her stop. She decided to do the whole house. I tried it out also and the low profile allows you to really get under tables, chairs, couches and I didn't find it unusually loud like some reviews I read.

It's very maneuverable and has much better suction than my giant high end Hoover which is also fairly new. Shark customer service told me their Rotator lift away has more suction than this model but even then its suction is very strong, I cant imagine the rotator liftaway model.

It also comes with a 5 year warranty which is comforting. So far, so good.

Purchased the Shark Rocket today. Put it together in about 10 minutes. First I removed the tube extension to try it on our carpeted steps...to my amazement it worked and worked well. The swivel steering works great as does the self-propel feature! To my surprise I came up with about a good sized handful of dust/lint just from the "clean" stairs. Then I put the tube extension back on and cleaned the entire first floor carpeted and tiled...worked great and gathered another good handful of dust! Oh and it's light and very user friendly. It's OUR Christmas present. My wife and I love it! Read the other reviews too.

This was not on Amazon at the time and I saw it at Target otherwise I would have purchased from Amazon. There may be some uprights that have a little more suction but this vac is awesome. It has really good suction and is very versatile and has an extremely long cord. What I like best is that you can lay it almost flat to go under beds and tables and it does not pop the vac head up. I have a shark rotator and it is great but I like the size and versatility of this vac - it is awesome! Also, I had to call Shark for a question on my other Vac and they have excellent Customer Service.

Could you buy a Dyson? Sure. Is Dyson a great vacuum? Sure. But why spend more than twice the price for the same result? This is one fantastic vacuum. I live in a small place with popcorn ceilings, I have three cats and a two year old, this is the single most useful tool in my arsenal. This thing does everything it claims, it is easy to use and very sturdy. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
