Unclear measurements... otherwise worth it
on September 27, 2013
I got scared about ordering the normal length version of this strap because so many reviewers claimed it was so small, but when I got the extra-long version it was far too long for me. Here are some actual measurements for you all in case you are confused like I am.
The length necessary for the strap really depends on your waist measurement and your torso length-- band size does not matter. If you look at the picture you will see how little of the band is actually at the top part of the criss-cross. I have a 28" waist and the distance between my belly button and the center of my chest is 8". This band was, at its longest and shortest, 43.5" and 35.5" respectively, which was way too long for me! I tied it to get a feel for what it would be like if I had the correct size by tying it in knot, and a fitting size ended up requiring 29-30". That is only two inches more than my waist, so I would recommend measuring your waist, adding a couple of inches (maybe a couple more if you have a long torso), and then deciding what length will work for you.
-reasonably easy to put on (lay out your bra, hook the two double-hook sides to your bra band, put your arms through the bra arms, criss cross, hook in the front, and adjust).
-moderately comfortable (a little pinchy around any waist fat, but what else can you expect? Then again, I was just standing in front of my mirror. I have to get a different size to wear it out)
-does a nice lift-and-separate thing with my bust
-felt fully supported
-definitely does what it says: lowers the bra band at least 3 inches (closer to 4)
The only negative aside from the unclear measurement guide (which is not at all better on the actual package) is that my bra straps ended up getting pulled in a little closer to the center of my back. This would really only affect super wide and low back cut-outs. A little adjusting fixed this for me.
I will update when I get the normal length to see how the measurements play out, and again after the event where I will be testing it out.
