I've been a Clarks Wallabee wearer since I was 14 years old. I'm an old fellow now but I still wear them. A lot of people, especially the younger generating, will find the Wallabees to be the ugliest shoe ever made. But to those who grew up in the 80s, and are now hitting early 40s (well now you know my age)..the Wallabees is THE coolest pair of casual shoes ever. It's comfortable. It's simple. It goes well with jeans, khakis. If you have the Tan suede, it'll look even better when it's been aged by dirt and grime, it adds that "used" effect.

If you want to go classic, buy the tan suede low tops. I never liked the tan suede high tops for some reason. Black suedes come in high tops only I think. Brown suedes in high tops only too. But I could be wrong.

Now as far as where it's made. Long time ago, the Wallabees were made in UK by Irish shoemakers. Now, all Wallabees are made in China. You won't UK made Wallabees I would think. While I was living in the UK three years ago, I bought two pairs of Wallabees in London, and guess where they were made? China! So if the Brits think Wallabees made in CHina are good enough to be sold in London, then it's good enough for me. At the end of the day, the Wallabees is UK. I've owned two UK made Wallabees and it's no different with the ones made in China now, same materials, same stitching, same everything. The only thing you need to be aware of is the sizing. I had to take a whole size lower than my usual footsize. Make sure to fit them properly before you buy them. Clarks Outlet here in VA are very accomodating with returns and exchanges.

Just buy Wallabees and enjoy them.

These shoes are the best. They are classic Authentic Clarks and look, feel, and smell of quality. MAKE SURE YOU ORDER A SIZE SMALLER than you wear. Im a size 10... so I ordered a size 9.5 and they fit perfect. Wallabees run big.

I really like my Wallabees. The only thing I would warn people on is that they run big, so trying a pair on in the store before you order wouldn't be a bad idea.

Had a pair of these, in suede, as a teenager. They are extremely comfortable, and they wear like iron. They are casual shoes, out-of-place in formal dress situations, but are designed well enough for just about anything other use, office included.

I had forgotten they existed, until I saw the dude from "Breaking Bad" wearing them. I poked around Amazon for a few minutes and ordered mine immediately.

I have one criticism of the black leather variety: I am a clergyman, and wear black as a 'uniform.' I need my shoes to be comfortable and always presentable. The blacking of the sides of the crepe sole, put on at the factory, wears off too easily, causing the shoes to look less presentable. I'd love to see the factory do some magic to make the coloring more permanent.

tried the women's size on in the store and it was very narrow, so she brought me a men's size and they fit perfectly and looked the exact same, except they were $21.00 more. so i found them on here and am waiting for them to get here! i got them $60 cheaper. they are so comfy and are like wearing slippers. love them.

The shoes were a gift for my son...he loves them! They are very comfortable, great quality, and were a very good price compared to in-store prices. He tried them on at a mall store and selected the color he preferred, then we ordered them from Amazon and saved about $50! I was thrilled!

I was looking for a new pair of shoes, after one of my Clarks casual shoes (made in india) literally split in half. It only had 8 months of use! I was so angry, so much so that as a loyal Clark's customer I vowed to move on to another brand of shoe.

So I began my search, and search, and search... I just couldn't find any pair of shoe that exited me as much as Clark's did. I began to reminisce on my first pair of Clark's that started it all. The Wallabees.

The quality in craftsmanship, the nice thick leather, the stitching, and the indestructible weird looking jelly soles. These things could take a hit. I mean I wore them consistently for two years and they just wouldn't budge. I eventually needed something different, so I put them in the closet; only to come out when ever a pair of shoe wore out and I needed a something while I made another purchase. After about 2 years of that I realize I shouldn't be buying more shoes I should be wearing my wallabees. So I wore them for several more years until I finally decided its was time to part... What a mistake.

Here I had a pair a shoes that lasted me almost a decade I parted away for no real good reason. It took me many more years of wearing other Clark's and other brands to come to this realization. The Wallabee's are the best shoes ever made!

I broke my vow of not buying Clark's after that indian made piece of crap, and decided to buy these. To my surprise the wallabee's are no longer made in England or Ireland, but instead made in China!

I was sceptical as to how great the quality may be. I mean I lost faith in Clark's after all. But after careful inspection, these shoe's look, smell, and feel just like the originals. The craftsmanship looks the same as well (a little more modern support). I did some research and turns out China has one of Clark's best shoe factory in the world.

I can not judge these shoes by where is was made, but how they fare out with the old ones. So far I'm very very happy! I will wear these and put it to the test of time, and see if they will go for almost a decade as my originals did. At this point they once again take their place as my number one favorite pair of shoes.

I gave these to my husband for Christmas, they bring back memories of high school when Wallabees were all the rage. He loves them... I ordered a 1/2 size down and they fit perfectly. My college son liked them so much, he ordered a pair! Timeless style.

I love these shoes on my husband, but the ones he is wearing are falling apart. They are so old, I could no longer read the size (I actually couldn't find the size anywhere). He usually wears a size 9.5, so that is the size I ordered. Too big. I then ordered the 9s. Too big. I just placed an order for 8.5 and I will let you know.

I believe there is a misrepresentation in the name of these shoes, "original". I started buying wallabies in 1977 and have bought many pairs over the years. Over the years they have expanded the product line and have sold variations of the original shoe that were similar and had the name WALLABEE in the shoes name and at some point one of the models was given the name "Original Wallabee". However, the original shoe I bought in 1973 and for many years thereafter was made in Ireland and had a steel shank. I also believe the sole was of a different material. Although the same shoe could be manufactured in a different country, these are really not the same as there is no steel shank. I have 3 older pairs like this one in the closet and I needed to start replacing them; however the finish was poor on them and they didn't feel quite right and returned them. I ordered another another pair and a pair of Stinsons, and ended up keeping the Stinsons and returning the 2nd Wallabees for similar reasons
