Nope. Once you've set it (turn it on), as I recall, everything is automatic. As with any new touch-screen device it may take awhile for you to get the hang of the menu operation but once you've played with it for a day or two you'll have it down and some of the features are not the kinda stuff that a "regular" point-and-shoot photographer should be playing with anyway....they won't help produce a better shot in the context of how I use the camera, at least. There are about ten settings I even care about and once I've set them, I pretty much forget about them. Hope this is useful to you.
