4.0 out of 5 stars hellfire? no.....intrigue? yes., October 25, 2010
This review is from: THE STORM WITCH (Paperback)
ooh,i liked this gothic but,i do not want to give it all away.

set in 1815,england,the story involves:greed,lies,secrets,murder,fraud,identity concealment,attraction,and in the end,love.

the gist of the story is this. a BAD man(william dean) is murdered and a GOOD man

(sir dorian mallory) is thought to be responsible but,WE (the readers) know that

someone else is the true killer. it is just a matter of figuring out who it is.

there is a young woman("isabella") in this story who is somewhat a psychic and

she helps sir dorian to find the real culprit. young isabella,is the "storm

witch" in the title. this is dorian's nickname for her(he means it in a nice way).

the author has really developed the characters and there is close attention to detail (early 19th century england, upper class/the misery of the poor in london).

this is one of the better gothics i have read.
