I have been struggling with a Kodak Easy share and it's maddening insistence on appropriating EVERY photo I download? Is this a problem?

I don't use kodak easy share. I just download my picture into the computer and email them.

Assuming you are a Windows user, try this:
1. Click on the Start button (lower left corner, Windows icon)
2. Click on Pictures in the list on the right
3. Find a picture, RIGHT click on the picture
4. Click on "Open with..." in the pop-up menu
5. Click on "Choose Default Program..." in the next pop-up menu
6. Choose something other than Kodak Easy Share
7. Check the box in "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
