5.0 out of 5 stars Biggest SMILE ever seen on my 2 year old!
So happy we bought this for our son's 2 year old birthday. He's been on it 2 days straight - around the house, and out at the park - and I've never ever seen this cool kid smile so big, for so long! He's had other ride-ons (a car and a turtle), and liked those, but he looooves this motorcyle! There is just something so "big kid" about it's style, and the fact that you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fluff on the internet for this, check out the youtube videos!
I unboxed the Mopi, "Sasha" as my son calls it, and checked it out. Wonder how all that press is making out to the internet, pretty aggressive marketing costs lots of money! This thing probably costs no more than a couple bucks to be made in China. Kids love blinking lights, if nothing else, I'd love to see some red rear blinking LED's. I may modify Sasha and add some...

There is just something so "big kid" about it's style, and the fact that you can steer it is great!

He immediately got on it and zoomed around, steering properly, all over our hardwood, area rugs, and tile floors. On a regular tricycle, he hasn't mastered pedaling+steering, so could never go very fast or far without us helping and pushing (read: bent over all the time getting a sore back - lol). It was so GREAT to take him to the park and watch him fly all around on his own, up and down small hills, steering confidently and squealing with glee the whole time. He can really get it going fast (wear helmets!), and that's very thrilling for him, of course. Our tall (41 inches) 3 year old girl loves it too (even though she can ride real trikes or bike with training wheels already), but boy isn't sharing his new wheels much yet.

We were hesitant, of course, to spend 49.99 on a small plastic toy, and I do still think it should really be about a $25-35 toy, but we are thrilled with the purchase nonetheless.

Other reviewers noted it was ominously lightweight - and that is very true. When the box came, I lifted it before I opened it, and thought there must be a mistake as it almost felt empty. So hopefully, it will be durable enough for our rough-and-tumble boy for many months (at least) to come, because it's obvious he's established quite a bond with his "motorcycle." So far it is showing no signs that it will break too easily.

Came fully assembled with stickers on. Just removed from box and good to go.

Bottom line: If you have $50 to spend and a 2 - 3 year old to buy for, I will bet you will get paid back in super-big smiles. Also a great early learning step to steering a trike/bike.

I may modify Sasha and add some on.

The first few days were primarily spent with him sitting on it not doing much of anything else. Then he began pushing it around the house, which he loved. Finally we transitioned outside and he was riding/pushing himself around on the sidewalk. He loves it. Neighbor's driveway has a bit of a slope to it, he rides down that all the time, and figured out that he can angle his legs backwards to not have them drag on the ground. I'd say that this is the biggest selling point of this toy is that there are no pedals to impede a child's desire to coast.

It does require close supervision. The wheels in the back are very close together, there really is not much sideways stability. We've had lots of rollovers in the house (NTSB doesn't have rollover warnings on this thing!). So far our only outdoor accident has been rolling off the two steps of the patio into the grass.

Customer service is top notch and US based! My son is 32 pounds, and turns two today. We pondered getting the larger model which is only available through special order. The company got back to us within a day and suggested that we just go with the smaller unit as the big one is too big for most children.

All in all it is a nice toy that my son really enjoys. I believe it is a bit overpriced, but your children will have loads of fun with it!

I had my doubts when I read that this "piece of plastic" was the best invention for toddlers who love ride-ons. I have twin 25 month olds. My daughter won't ride on anything and my son is loyal to his beat up hand-me-down truck that I know will "break down" any day now. He has so much fun on it, I really wanted something for my daughter. Despite the fact that they are tall (36" each and 26 & 30 lbs respectively) I ordered the smaller MOPI. I was worried my daughter would tip the bigger one and give up on it immediately. I was disappointed amazon didn't list height so I could get a better idea of which one to order. I went to the product website and got the dimensions I needed.

We received the MOPI today and as soon as my daughter saw it, she climbed on. This is not unusual - she is always willing to try something new, but is typically quick to discard it. It's been four hours and she won't get off of it. She won't even let her brother try it, so it looks like I'll be ordering another one. It is the perfect height for her (and I see growth potential) plus she has already mastered turns and gliding along the wood floors with both feet up. I cannot believe how much she loves this thing. She even wanted to bring it upstairs to go "night night" with her - a special invitation usually only extended to baby dolls and stuffed animals.

To any of you who have doubts, all I can say is this - I did BIG TIME and I'm so happy I forged ahead and bought it anyway. Even though it is light, cheap-looking and looks incredibly small when you first take it out of the box, keep in mind that looks are deceiving. It is sturdy as anything and I love that my daughter can carry it on her own or lift it up to go from wood floor to thick carpet. Definitely worth it.

I bought this bike for my 2 year old daughter last Christmas and she has played with this toy daily for the past year. Don't be fooled by the design...it's incredibly rugged, and the light-weight plastic is genius because it allows the children to easily push themselves along all types of floors. My kids have taken their Mopis down the hill in our front yard, and other than losing a couple of stickers, the bikes are in perfect shape. I agree the bike can topple, but to me that's one of the benefits, teaching the kids balance.

Another plus, the customer service is superb. After last Christmas, the fights to ride the bike between my daughter and her slightly older brother were too much, so I needed to get an XL Mopi for him. Amazon didn't have them in stock, so I contacted the Mopi distributor directly and she got us an XL within weeks.

I cannot recommend a toy more than this bike!

OMG!!! It was his second B-day and it was the second present he opened, needless to say he didn't open anything else and would not get off the motorcycle. He let the other kids open his presents and he sat on the mopi. At first he would fall off it once he really started moving but shortly after that he was cruising on it. It seems like a cheap plastic motorcycle but it stands up to the beating and a year later he still rides it; daily. It's plastic but it's solid, like the old school big wheels. You could not find anything better that continues to put a big smile on his face every day.

I accidentally ordered this smaller size superMOPI instead of the XL for my 3 year old. He can ride it, but I can see it will be too small within a year. He loves it and rides it around and around on our hard floors. It's the first thing he looks for in the morning and parks it by his bed at night.

The front wheel steers, which is very important for my kids to enjoy riding a vehicle. They won't even get on a push car if the front wheels aren't attached to the steering wheel. He likes that it's slightly tippy and requires balancing when going fast around corners - makes it more exciting. It's very light weight to the point of feeling flimsy, but so far it's held up well. The wheels are plastic rather than rubber, which is fine for our indoor use, but I'm not sure how they would fare outside.

i read the reviews and decided to buy. when it arrived, i doubted the greatness of the toy because it seems to be so flimsy/cheaply made. I don't think it is, though. But it's VERY light, and the decals are just stickers. My kid loves this thing. Here are the bullet points:

1. great for in the house: tight turn radius
2. my kid has learned to go forward and could not do that with any other ride-on previously. the skill has carried over to other ride-ons, though.
3. he can pick it up carry it, no problem. when it falls over, it doesn't hurt him.
4. he has had to learn not to have the wheel perpendicular to the bike when he mounts it. he learned that quickly.
5. when he is riding it, and it tips over, he can just stand and let the bike fall. he has fallen over on it a few times, though. that's ok, we're learning balance.
6. if there are other smallish toys on the floor, Mopi seems to just roll over them without hurting them.
7. my kid learned to pick up the front wheel when going over a threshhold or some small obstacle in order to pass over it.

It's a nice toy for an 18 month old!

I did the research and read the reviews, so I was nervous to drop $50 on a peice of plastic for my daughter. This one was worth it, it worked. My smaller than average two year old daughter hopped on it and in 10 minutes was doing laps. Two months later she's still rolling on it and steers the thing like second nature. She goes along so smoothly it's almost cathartic to watch her. It's possible to spend less than half the money and end up with a colorful plastic toy that mars the walls and baseboards, then becomes a tripping hazard because it's unused, but then again you can spend the money and hope that your kid loves it as much as mine did. No regrets.
