Dear Mr Fox,
I can't be absolutely positive about this point, but find herewith what I have found.

In DVD REVIEW, May 14, 2008, Guido Henkel wrote : Audio English DD Mono, Subtitles : None, Extras : none.

He adds : "Dialogues are always understandable but sound as if recorded though a tin can and with exceedingly obvious instances of ADR dubbing. No extras are included in the release at all, which comes hardly as a surprise, considering how poorly the release has been treated by the studio overall. I mean, it doesn't even have subtitles, making a new low even for Paramount"

No subtitles on DVD but subtitles do work if you activate your close-caption options on your TV remote control. It'll subtitle the lines in whatever language your TV is set to.

Thanks Mr Joy,

Can you confirm closed-captioned is only in English ?

amigo Bruno Marquez, lamentable que no tenga subtitulos en español esta presentación, pero por si le interesa puede encontrar otra presentación de Holocausto tambien en DVD en la tienda ó ambas de España, sale un poco mas caro pero creo que vale la pena.

Could someone have a look at their set and see if there are any subtitles in ENGLISH? I am Deaf, from the United Kingdom (can't seem to find out if the UK version has subtitles either!). Could someone play it and have a look for us deaf people? THANKS. Closed captions no good as I cannot get US captions on my UK multi-region player. THANK YOU

I always have my closed caption on my tv...couldn't watch a thing if I didn't. Nothing shows up on the movie. Very disappointed as this is a classic. I really was looking forward to seeing it again.

J. Lawson says:
It appears from the posts on this question that the DVD set, Holocaust, does not have subtitles. However, the description posted by Amazon states that it is close-captioned. I am hearing impaired and can not watch this unless there is either English subtitles or close-captioning. Does anyone know for certain whether the Amazon description is correct and there is close-captioning included on the DVDs?

PAUL says:
Sorry, I can't answer your question. I have bought the French edition of Holocaust. Audio : English and French. Subtitles : English. Unfortunately for you, it's a zone 2 dvd. Unless this problem, it would have solved yours for the hearing impaired.

No solution for you unless you buy the French, zone 2, edition.
