I have been looking for good crime books to read. I always check the reviews. Lately, I have noticed some very mean and nasty reviews. Have you? I think one can write a review without tearing up the author. Am I wrong?

I suppose because some of the reviewers aren't professional reviewers and don't understand what it takes to write a book. Also, some may have a personal vendetta against the author and this is a way of getting back at them. I generally try to read the two- three-and four-star reviews to get a better feel for the book. But I agree with you, there is no reason to rip an author in a review. It's just not a nice thing to do.

Hi! Thanks for your post. There are 2 guys who are not just writing a negative review, they are shredding the books in an insulting and offensive way. They are trying to reach the publisher and author so they can change the book. This has nothing to do with my book. There is not one positive review out of 30 or so. I think they are trying to be "expert" in Apollo/space categories. Funny because they know very little about math/physics. I am a rare woman engineer who worked on the Saturn V during Apollo. They also insulted a Curator of the Smithsonian who is one of the top reviewers on Amazon. I have an honors degree in Math and Astronomy. Studied lots of Physics. Here is one example: Rocket Men the Epic Story of the 1st Men on the Moon. There are books with similar titles. Look for the very dark nearly black cover. Please start with Shomper's review and read all the comments. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Sara
