I can see that - I'm just not very good at the whole 'balance' thing <g> Our instructor's very good, though.

I know the T-1000 says:
Yeah I have similar feelings with our new "rivalry" with Colorado. No one in Nebraska recognizes it as a rivalry because it was manufactured by Colorado as an end goal for their program. It also doesn't help that the historical CU/NU series is incredibly lopsided, so it's hard to see them as a rival when they have barely ever beaten us. They have probably the most classless fans in all of college football. I will be attending the OU/NU game this year, so hopefully it will go better than last year. That will always be the true rivalry for nebraska fans, no matter how much Colorado throws the word 'rival' at us.

Rats, I just pushed the wrong button and deleted the post.
We live in the moment, Charley, and are happy to see you whenever you can visit. We have missed you and still miss Meaty's pithy comments.

Ive asked Meaty a couple of times about his abandonment of the fantasy forum, and he simply avoids the question... did something happen that I dont know about?

Joyce Ronquillo says:
Statistics is too dry to ever consider it interesting. I find that odd, in a way, because so many guys are really in to sports stats and even game stats that use those skills. I guess it's the learning of the skills that seems suited to the dry desert conditions you find yourself in, Charley. I certainly hear you on the "pass is enough" situation. I had an Economics class in school like that. I read the book and went to class on Friday to take the quiz. I hated it.

Joyce Ronquillo says:
The LSU/Tulane rivalry is similar in it's lopsidedness (though Tulane has actually won on very rare occasions). It is just regarded by both sides as an excellent excuse for a party. I guess it has to work that way since the school families are very interbred, hostilities would be bad.

Joyce Ronquillo says:
No Frank, He just told us he was well and needed to get on with life. He said we sucked up too much time and he needed to quit "cold turkey". We gave him a parade, wished him well, then kissed him on the nose and waved goodbye with appropriate tears and entreaties to stay. Maybe VGF is even more addictive? or less so? Whatever the reason he hasn't been back to visit unless he lurks. I, personally, don't think I can brave the wilds of VGFland.

Did you tell them that you are moderating KTT?
Threaten them with being the subject of a filk? Bounce a box/ball off their heads? Shout condiment names in the faces? Leave a few ferrets in the office over night?

April Follies says:
Inspired by Sally Pursell, I'm posting my very first full-fledged Friday filk.
I want a new book One with a decent plot One that won't fall into cliches Or make the end plain to spot. I want a new book One that has good rich text One that won't mix up 'there' with 'their' Or make every third word 'sex'. One that's not truly gruesome, Dwelling on blood and gore, One that tells a story and then leaves me wanting more... Yes, always wanting more. I want a new book One that's quite thick One that won't cost too much Or finish too quick. I want a new book One I'll want to keep One that will keep me up all night One that won't make me go to sleep. One that I'll keep on reading Just to find what's in store, One that tells a story and then leaves me wanting more... Always wanting more... That's what a sequel's for, yeah. I want a new book And when characters die, One that won't make me not care less, One that won't make me stop and cry. I want a new book Something to read Make my imagination soar Fill my "good new book" need. One that has some excitement, One that is not a bore, One that tells a story and then leaves me wanting more... Oh, always wanting more. I'll read three or four, Still be wanting more...

April, Bravo! And we know just wgat you mean,
Matt, that is a serious bummer. When you get home take a moment to say hi so we know you're still out there fighting the good fight. Did anything over come of the job interview? Night all. I gotta go pull out the blanket again. It will be 30 degrees colder tonight than last night and all the windows are still open.

a new filker! April, I love it... we're so proud!
and, you get extra points for it being singable. :) Matt... sigh. don't they know that the ability to buy books during work hours can increase productivity? it's been slow today. will the thread survive the weekend with a measly nine hour time limit? of course, if we go 8 hours without a post, the time limit drops to 8 hours. stay tuned...
