Is red hair out of style? Why is everyone dying their hair blond?

It seems like everyone is bleaching their hair blonde.

Personally, I love red hair, and would love to find a guy with it!

I personally don't consider red hair out of style. Never have, never will. I love redheads, in fact one of my favorite actresses, Alicia Witt, is a redhead. Heck I can't even think of a half-talented blonde actress.

I don't think it's that red hair isn't fashionable anymore. Blonde hair's just a lot easier to keep.. Red hair always fades much more quickly so you have to keep getting it redyed to avoid that brassy color.

you don't have to keep re-dying it if you get the right hair care products. i dye mine red and i only have to get it redone because my roots show...the colour barely fades. might i suggest the euphora colour-lock system? :)

I agree with Holton. I had red hair for like 10 years & it's still my favorite hair color ...by far. But I switched to blonde about a year ago simply to avoid the hassle. Although my blonde gets pretty brassy if i don't keep it up also, so now I'm going brown to avoid THAT hassle.. haha. I'm just getting lazier about it the older I get.
But no, red is beautiful.

Should it really matter? If you like red hair, then go with it.

I love redheads, my wife is a natural redhead. She dyes it to be a deeper red than is her natural color and it looks great

Natural red hair will never be out of style especially when its complimented by the milky white skin that a lot of red heads have. In all honesty women who have that combination are some of the most alluring and most beautiful women I have ever seen and I again dont ever see that changing

Simple answer: blonde hair is considered sexy and today that's all that matters.

psych studies have shown red is (subconsciously) the least trusted hair shade, brunette is most trusted, while blonde is associated with "fun" ...imagine that! All the media hype, from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" on down :-P

Artistically, I LOVE red hair, and am jealous of people with the cream complexions to get away with it and carry it well. Especially light reds like Axl Rose, and true red like Stephanie Seymour. Sigh. I settle for red and caramel highlights and darker brunette lowlights from a LICENSED colorist at a GOOD salon. A cheapie by someone who "does color" is just not worth it. You need to match colors to skin tone for best effect, and color blending makes it really a work of art.

Yup, every stylist affirms reds fade fastest. Careful of the products you wash with - some strip color more than others.

I don't really think red hair was in mainstream style. Blonde hair always has been popular. Although yesterday I was at the grocery store line and saw on a magazine cover that Scarlett Johannson (sp?) dyed her hair red. But her beauty is not mainstream, it is unique.

Red hair is gorgeous. Dark reds, especially. Blonde is too overdone, so please bring some light and variety to this world and choose red!

Red hair, I think, is very exotic, but more people look better with blonde hair than with red. It takes a certain type of person to pull it off.

Because most people don't look good with red hair. Red hair really only looks good on those with the right skin tone. If you have a naturally creamy, white complexion, not only could you pull red hair off, but almost any other haircolor except maybe the darkest shade of black. Alas, most women nowadays weren't born with this type of skin and the ones that were have been brainwashed into believing that the coveted, crispy orange glow from a tanning bed is sexier, so naturally, most women have ruined their skin from laying in tanning beds for so many years.

I personally love red hair. My dad had natural dark red hair and everyone called him Red. His heritage was Irish, Scottish and German. My Mom said his hair used to look like it was on fire in sunlight when she met him. :D None of us kids got the red hair, 3 brunettes and 1 pale blonde. I'm naturally a medium-dark brunette but I've been dying my hair since I was 19 and I prefer it when it's some shade of red, either light or dark or an auburn brown with red tones. I have the pale complexion too, so red looks pretty natural on me. If I try to go back to a dark brown I end up looking goth and I hate it.
Some of my favorite actresses and actors are also redheads. They just appear to be more interesting, sexy and mysterious. James Spader is one of my favorite redheads. With all the many shades of blondes and brunettes out there, reds really stand out and get noticed.

Red hair is gorgeous in my opinion. Some people look nice with bleached hair, but it's not as attention grabbing as auburn hair at all.

True Red is so beautiful. It's a color that a person looks best born with, not from any bottle. Sad I know, but true. For the rest of us at least, the beauty shops do a admirable job with blondes and brunette shades.

Red dye does not stay in my hair. I've tried to go red so many times. Even when my hair stylist colors it, after a few washes it's gone. I've given up on red. I perfer blonde highlights in my dark hair anyway. I think the contrast is very pretty.

I am a natural blonde (more like a 'honey/dirty blonde' actually) and I have recently begun dying my hair a red brown. A lot of people that didn't know me when I was blonde think it is my natural hair color, so yea you can dye it red and it will look good (contrary to what some suppose) as long as it matches your skin type I suppose. Its nice to be taken seriously for a change, I'm not an idiot and people really did treat me like I was dumb when my hair was blonde, not to mention the jokes.

Also I think because of my light hair color, the red takes forever to fade, I don't have to get it dyed often at all.

I don't have any problems keeping my hair a nice color, I only recolor when my darker roots show up. I usually use either a light reddish brown or a light auburn. Actually even when I use a light golden brown I get a nice lighter red tone. I can't afford to go to a salon for color so I've always colored my own hair and I've had a couple of hairstylists tell me they love my color! Really the home haircolor kits have come a long way and you can do pretty much whatever you like with your color. Have fun with it!

I have reddish hair. I am a light auburn. Why in the world would I want to lower my IQ by a hundred points and be a blonde?
If I really worried about what is popular and I found that blonde is the chic color of the moment, I would have to go and dye my hair even redder! I hate having an industry tell me what color my hair, eyes or skin should be.
