My husband is in his late 40's and likes to run. He also has recently started coaching cross-country with middle schoolers. I'm looking for gift ideas. I have bought him a nice heart monitor in the recent past. I don't dare try to pick out shoes. We live in South Central Texas so he doesn't need a lot of cold weather gear. Any runners out there with good ideas?

As a graduate student, I work very closely with two individuals, one male, one female, on my thesis. I would like to get them each small gifts for Christmas, but can't afford to spend a lot. I would also like both gifts to be the same, or at least comparable.
Last year, I gave each an assortment of chocolates, candies, and truffles from a local boutique. They loved it, so wouldn't mind doing something similar, although I would prefer to not do the same thing again this year. Any suggestions? Thanks! 9 hours ago

I get my ex a gift every year. I consider him a invaluable co-worker on a very important project (raising our children) and I treat him as such. Nice but generic gifts are the way to go- Popcorn in a holiday tin, gourmet coffee, chocolates or mixed nuts that he can share at his own holiday gatherings. Good luck.

I really think the atheistic book suggestions are unnecessary. If you don't have anything appropriate to suggest, just don't respond. Grow up already.
I have a group of six friends that give each other small Christmas gifts each year. Last year one friend gave us all nice mugs with tea bags inside. I think of my friends every time I use mine. Another easy, inexpensive gift is some homemade cocoa mix or chai mix in a jelly jar with a pretty ribbon. (You can find powdered drink mix recipes online.) Attractive journals or some pretty stationery would be nice, too. If you have an outlet mall near you, you might find these at the discount book store.
