just a minor gripe but, having done a quick web search and checked youtube, i couldn't really find a definitive answer. so...

is it normal for the buttons on the kindle 2 to be...noisy? i mean, the neighbours aren't going to complain any time soon, but the buttons on my kindle (especially you, Next Page) make a 'clacky' sound not unlike the space bars on hollywood keyboards. example: if you were sat in the same room as me, without looking, you'd know whenever i turned a page.

is that normal or have i got rogue buttons?

pretty normal : ) i know what you mean because I've tried to sneak in some reading and couldn't avoid the "clacky"

I'm in the middle - the right hand page forward button on my Kindle is fairly loud and the left button is almost silent. I think it's just the nature of the hardware.

Funny, Bitflip, because my left button is noisier than my right. The right one is almost silent if I press it carefully whereas the left button always makes a soft "tap" when I press it. I figured it was because I used the right more than the left and so I'm trying to "break in" the left button by using it exclusively, but so far, it remains louder than the right.

My buttons are noisy as well. It is especially noticeable in a quiet room and can be annoying. Love my Kindle but do not like this "flaw".

I don't think the buttons are a problem outside the bedroom....
I was reading Herodotus the other night on my Kindle and my husband told me the next morning that he was traumatized by a mysterious clacking noise during the dead of night. He feared that the plumbing was doing something aberrant.... but found out it was my busy thumbs on the Kindle.
(I can't see where this is any more offensive than his snoring).
