i was just checking out the new stephen king book & noticed it had a kindle pre order bonus but aye would be nice to see them listed somewhere

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 18, 2008 7:51:15 PM PDT
It was $22 when I pre-ordered it, but I ordered it with the expectation that it would come down in price before release because it was sure to be on the bestseller list by then. Glad to know I was right.

And I'm reading the bonus short story now. Very good!

Brisingr also has a pre-order button and is $9.99. If you get there by searching, the pre-order button is under the picture of the book. If you search for it by searching Kindle books, it's on the right where the buttons to buy always are.

I was wondering if there were more Kindle books that were available for pre-order. I hope more and more new releases become available for pre-order.

I was glad to read your post, I think the Kindle pre-order is a new thing - when I got my kindle, I had to go through and cancel all my pre-orders, then wait for the release date to check Kindle availability. Some books, like "The Other Queen" by Phillippa Gregory originally were released with out the "Buy on Kindle" option...but were available if you searched on the Kindle side. I prefer to pre-order and want to throw my support behind this so I can cut down on my work on my author list review.

You can "watch" the comic book form of "N" at It's another King multimedia experiment. It's told in 29 (?) webisodes. They're all up now.

Ok, I admit to a big "duh" here but I just pre-ordered my Kindle edition. Now how do I get the free short story?

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 20, 2008 3:13:09 PM PDT
The free short story should be sent to you in a couple of days. If you don't have Whispernet access in your area, you may have to go to your Media Library to download it. When I pre-ordered the book, the "N" offer wasn't even listed yet, so I don't know how long after the pre-order they actually send it to you. I didn't get mine as soon as the offer was posted, however. It was a few days later.

I ordered mine last night, got "N" immediately after. Maybe it's because I did it close to midnight, less traffic....

Thanks everyone. I was just being impatient and expecting a 60 second download. Mine arrived about 30 mins. later. The next statement probably belongs on a different discussion thread: Have you noticed downloads taking longer and prices going up? :-(

I watched the web graphic novel and compared it to the text of the short story. The comic book form is edited down quite a bit. Guess that's why it is a graphic novel and not the real deal!! ;-)
