While it would be nice to say that you are completely wrong, there is some truth to what you're saying, and I can understand your obvious frustration. Many women are attracted to "bad boys", and overlook the good guys. It's also true that there is a very real attraction to alpha-males; one needs merely to look at the heroes of many romance novels to see this. Many women do set their standards too high, expecting men to be everything they fantasize about rather than what individual men really are, and that's not fair to the men they are dealing with. Women and men both let their fantasies cloud their judgment when it comes to selecting partners.

But I also think you're overgeneralizing. Women are, like men, complex individuals. There is not single male that every woman will be attracted to, any more than there is any single female that all men will be attracted to. And to make things even more complicated, tastes change over time and in response to circumstances. A...
