Also Disappointed, September 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A taste of the Virgin Islands (Paperback)
As a local Virgin Islander I was not impressed by the book. The recipes were not exactly what I would call "local". As a young Virgin Islander in college I was looking for some recipes from home to cook and share with my friends here in college. This book did not give me the recipes that I was looking for. In the end I did the thing I should have done in the beginning, call my mother. (smile) If anyone knows a Crucian,Tomian,or BVI cookbook that has local recipes it would be nice to know.

I was so disappointed with this book. First of all so Thin?, I was expecting so many more recipies. I only tried a few out and they were fun but not too original.

Not A Very Traditional Cookbook, Disappointed, June 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A taste of the Virgin Islands (Paperback)
I'm a native Virgin Islander looking for a cookbook with local recipes. This was not it. I considered trying some of the recipes, but they did not seem interesting or inventive enough. If you are a novice cook just looking to cook something a little different every now and then, this cookbook might appeal to you.
