Book Description

August 1, 2006 Villegas Cronica
Written within hours of the catastrophe on Corpus Thursday in 1917, this narrative describes the events that unfolded after one of the most severe earthquakes in Salvadorean history. As this survivor recalls the atmosphere of fear that prevailed in the aftermath of the disaster he exposes his audacity as both a writer and a journalist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent narrative day by day, July 28, 2011

This review is from: El terremoto de San Salvador: Narracion de un superviviente (Villegas Cronica) (Paperback)
I live here in San Salvador, at the feet of the same volcano depicted in the book. I really enjoyed the description made about the city and streets at the moment of the earthquake and tried to compare with the actual City, i thought about my grandparents in 1917 too. At the same time, made me think about the people and the special persons and authorities who were so helpful in those very sad moments. The historic earthquake list added to the book is so much interesting too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Engolada pero interesante, May 27, 2007

This review is from: El terremoto de San Salvador: Narracion de un superviviente (Villegas Cronica) (Paperback)
