5.0 out of 5 stars A keeper
If you are a Frames or Swell Season fan, you already know Colm's talent. This is a beautiful haunting album. Like the Frames albums, I had to play it over and over again as soon as it arrived. Unlike the Frames, it doesn't fill me with exploding emotion. Instead it creates a place of comfort. It has passion and depth but does not reach out with deep pain like Frames...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Disappointment
I hadn't known of this fiddler's music before, but there was quite a bit of hype about this album, so I bought it. For me, most..but not all..the tunes lacked interest. I was disappointed.

It is every bit as wonderful--just more tranquil. Yet not quiet. I recommend it totally. It is a joy. It is a surprise. It is a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece, October 4, 2011
This is an all instrumental album and it is Brilliant. Everyone I have given this CD to LOVES it! The album has songs that are laid back and easy to listen to as well as some that are haunting with intensity, but all of them have great melodies and hooks to them. This is not rock and roll, this is a collection of string instrumentals, mostly violin and it is fantastic. My taste run from Zeppelin, tool, U2, Pink Floyd, Frames, Pearl Jam, to Samuel Barber, Lisa Gerrard, Cronos Quartet and Colm Mac Con Iomare, this CD is absolutely beautiful.
