4.0 out of 5 stars It's great but has it's faults
It's the best headset I've found so far, as far as voice quality. I'm use my cell phone for conference calls and can't be in the position of not being heard and The Boom has been the answer for that. It's the best headset I've found and I've bought most all of them. Clients never comment about background noise or that they can't hear me. But after some wear the headset...

I'm having problems with my current headset, and was looking around for a new option. I got a chuckle when I ran across this one again. I purchased one of theBoom headsets some time back. The ear clip broke in less than a year, and I could not get them to respond when using their website. Needless to say, it quickly found its way to the trash, and I learned my lesson...

It's the best headset I've found and I've bought most all of them. Clients never comment about background noise or that they can't hear me. But after some wear the headset doesn't want to stay in place. The ear piece uses a magnet to hold it together and it needs some work. The whole earpiece starts to loosen up. My complaint are ; it doesn't stay in place because of a couple of reasons. First - the magnet isn't strong enough or it's just a poor design, second --- the rubber portion of the boom begins to rotate independently (where the rubber is attached to the metal or plastic near the base of the boom itself. They replaced the first one but the next one did the same. So, I just glued

The Boom headset is expensive but worth every penny. I have tried many headsets and this one's way ahead of it's competitors for killing background noise. No other headset microphone is even close. This thing is easily heard by people I am talking to on my cell from very noisy locations - family, friends and associates can't believe it, and appreciate it. Talk in a low whisper in a loud environment. Like having your own mobile "quiet room" in busy crowds, noisy restaurants, on the open road, in loud conferences.

Just got the new v4 Boom, and its lighter and more comfy than the prior model which I constantly used for over two years. But I miss the convenient 2-piece magnetic connector boom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb noise cancelling mic, imperfect wearability and convenience., October 18, 2006

With the Boom on I have leterally walked down a noisy street with loud trucks going by and people talking on the sidewalk and had the person at the other end think I was at my desk in a quiet room. I could hear them and they experienced no clipping or cutting in and out. I did a number of tests like this. This functionality is so incredible I'm giving it 5 stars even though the putting it on part isn't so great.

ONE IMPORTANT TIP: Position the mic about 1 inch from your mouth. Closer seems like it should be better but it's not, the person at the other end will get a lot of clipping and have trouble understanding you. About an inch or inch and a quarter away and pointed at your mouth seems perfect with my unit; if your results are less than what I described experiment with this before you say the unit doesn't work.

I think I have a generation previous to what's shown here now, so my usage comments may not apply. Like the other reviewer, I'm not too happy with the way it fits and what it takes to put it on. Once on and bent around my ear it stays ok, but it it's not quick or one handed to put on. It is pretty comfortable though on long calls.

I had one unit fail and the company replaced it quickly.
