I can't seem to figure out why Sam survives and is totally human in the end, whereas Jake dies. Shouldn't it have been opposite like they thought, or was it that they had to be in wolf form to survive? Just wondering what everyone thought...

E. Ragsdale says:
It's because he didn't get the whole dose of the meningitis injection. Jack would have survived too if they hadn't given him so much.

Ian says:
In addition to receiving half the dose of the meningitis bacteria, Sam also had a stronger will and purpose to survive than Jack: Grace. I like to think that that was part of it, too.

I don't see how peole posting here are jerks. It isn't their fault that they're posting on a forum that asks their personal theories. It's your fault for reading their comments that gives moments of the book away when you didn't read it first. Don't be name-calling when you were in the wrong.

I wasn't talking about the people posting, I was talking about the topic poster. I was just scrolling down the product the page and saw it. Get your facts straight.

To be fair, this showed up in my "discussions that might interest you" and I was glancing down the topics you couldn't avoid it. A little spoiler courtesy would have been nice.

Don't let this discussion stop you from reading the book. I just finished reading it and immediately started reading it again. It's not just how it ends that makes the book enjoyable. It's the story as it unfolds.
