Are there any preferred memory cards that work best with the OS? Or will just about any card work the same?

Samsung says it supports the 3 major SD variants: SD/SDHC/SDXC, which is roughly up to 4GB, 4-32GB, and 32GB+ cards. I've used different brands of 8-32GB cards with no problems, including micro-SD cards in an SD-card adapter.

Be aware that the SD slot is not deep enough to enclose the card when it is installed. The card will stick out about 3/8 inch / 1 cm from the case. You may not want to leave a card in the slot all the time.
