You CAN Write a Song, or Anything, February 19, 2011
Some years ago,I entered The American Song Festival, which at the time was well known for the many famous performer/writers as winners and judges. One of my song lyrics took an Honorable Mention, (me and a number of [mostly men] from Great Britain and The Netherlands). Not bad, considering that I put out the worst poems anyone ever heard when I could not get out of writing at school. The four songs I dashed off were the immediate result of my sister's insistance that I read: "If They Ask You, You Can Write A Song".
When I found that breaking into the world of music was harder than I ever imagined,I put my writing career on hold, but I had the confidence to write for businesses and organizations, plus business and personal correspondence,(not that they necessarily rhymed, mind you!). I later put the same skills into writing poems, articles, books and essays. The confidence that the the practical advice, clearly explained in Al Kasha's'voice', with patience and humor in this book will surely benefit anyone, whether or not you actually write a song. You may actually do so and even surprise yourself!
You CAN write a song,or anything else that strikes your fancy, after reading ITAY,YCWAS.
I recommend this book to everyone.
