Product Description

Our Signature Sound on a Whole New Level

The On1 supra-aural monitor features accurate, professional studio monitor sound and imaging. It is a transparent headphone that lets you hear and feel your music the way the artist intended it. The On1's have great top and extension, a lush midrange, and no real emphasis on any specific frequency range.

The Sound

The On1 features an enhanced 40mm speaker driver. The drivers are engineered for more accurate sound reproduction and create an expansive sound stage. The sound produced is engaging, immersive, and full of detail.

The Fit

The On1 headphones feature luxurious memory foam ear pads and a flexible headband for extra comfort.

The Finish

The first thing you'll notice about the On1 is the beautiful finish on the solid wood ear cups, but the attention to detail doesn't stop there. The On1 are beautifully constructed, with a look that is grown up and self-assured and an audio quality to match.

The Difference

thinksound headphones are designed and engineered to sound amazing while making a limited environmental impact. The earpieces are made of real wood from renewable sources, and all of our cables are PVC-free. Our packaging is compact and created from recycled materials, eliminating any hard to open, ubiquitous plastic bubbles.

What's in the box

Great headphones- they are well designed, comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent.
JMil
If there is any doubt about whether the 'On1' will play heavy impactful bass with good detail (if such sounds are really in the recording), this track is the proof.
Dale Thorn
The notes are so clear, natural, accurate... the intensity of the music comes from the music itself, rather than its volume.

I like to consider myself an audiophile and have sampled a lot of over the eat headphones and in ear headphones over the years. I found these to be equal to our better than done if the best headphones coming from the likes of Bose, Sennheiser, and the Dre series. And while there are a lot of very high end headphones that the mass market has never heard of I thought it best to mention those as they will be primary competitors.

But the on1 need not fear. Starting with the design, it is a desperately pretty headphone, and I really like the way that Thinksound stands for renewable resources and a clean earth.

Build quality was mentioned in one of the other comments. However my opinion differs, I found the headphones to be extremely light weight and we'll made. The tolerances on the headphone are extremely well controlled and everything fits together perfectly with no sharp edges or ridges to worry about. I especially like the Kevlar reinforced headphone cables that came with it and found then to be tangle free and very well made. Often times, I worry about the 3.5mm male ends coming off on some headphones but I have no worry with these.

Next, the comfort and sound isolation... With its memory foam padding, these are done of the most comfortable headphones I've ever put on. Additionally, though they do not have active node canceling, I thought the passive noise canceling these headphones possess is equal to many of the active systems.

While they are beautiful and comfortable, the team reason one should buy these is for the sound quality. I was amazed at its ability to produce the lowest lows while losing absolutely no clarity at the upper end of the spectrum. These are world class sounding headphones and I see myself using then for a very long time.

These are the best headphones i"ve ever own. The Comfort and audio reproduction is reference. The drivers goes down to high-quality subwoofer levels while retaining the accurate mids and highs, I'm not talking about a bass-enhanced sound that many mass-market headsets strive for. Nope, they preserved the guitars, violins, anything instrument that vibrate at more than 160 hz..

Pros: Environmentally conscious, wood housings, great isolation, removable cable, lightweight, clean sound, good instrument separation, good level of detail.
Cons: Soundstage can seem congested at times, can come off sibilant with Magni, mid-bass can come off as pushy.
Style: Full-sized, supra-aural.
Tonal Balance: Neutral with a slight warmth
Preferred Genres: Progressive rock, jazz, synth pop
Stand-Out Tracks: The Mars Volta - Cicatriz ESP, Wes Montgomery - California Dreaming, Passion Pit - Carried Away
Preferred Amp: Asgard 2
Listening Set-Up: Musicbee -> Schiit Modi -> Schiit Magni/Asgard 2

Design and Build Quality

Aesthetics
I've had a few people over my house recently where they've seen my wall of headphones and one thing that has been remarked is that the thinksound On1 look very nice. This praise has been without any attention given to the headphones on my part, these stand out on their own. I find that the On1 are eye catching headphones as well, after all there aren't many wooden portable headphones! The uniqueness of the wood will certainly draw up conversation.

Build Quality
When I first looked at the On1 I doubted their build quality, notably in the headband region. The headband is thin and looks rather cheap and fragile. I then gave a look at the documents provided to me and found a letter with some pictures. The letter seemed to indicate that they are aware that the On1 look fragile, but included were pictures of the On1 with the headband contorted in a few stressful positions with no harm done. I gave this a try and sure enough the top of the headband can take some twisting with no harm.

I have been a fan of thinksound ever since I tried their ms01 in ear monitors. We use lots of different types of headphones at our recording facility and don't get easily impressed with headphones. When a fellow producer gave me a pair of the ms01's to try I was impressed with their comfort right away. After that I was sold by the way they sounded. A couple of clients of ours were using the thinksound on1 monitors and I knew that I wanted to try them right away! I am not surprised that I wasn't disappointed. They sound fantastic. The high end is extremely smooth while maintaining a real nice low end. They maintain their richness no matter the volume. No detail escapes when monitoring with these headphones. They are extremely comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Now I need to supply our studio with more sets of on1's so everybody will stop taking mine!

I have always been impressed by Thinksound, so I was very excited when I learned that the On1's were coming. I'm a BIG fan of using renewable materials and a big fan of understated design. Many headphones on the market are made to be purposely flashy I appreciate that Thinksound does not play into this hype. These are not for your kids, they are grown-up headphones. The Anti-Beats

Straight off I loved the packaging- taking recycled materials and giving them a high end feel is something they have done very well here. You'll find everything you'd expect; manuals, a pouch for headphones, 2 cords(I LOVE the cords, tangle free and done in a GREAT woven black and white). The headphones themselves are surprisingly lightweight; maybe because of the use of wood I expected them to be heavier, but they are extremely light, although sturdy. If I had to knock them i ANY way- it could ONLY be that I would personally like it if they were heavier, but this is NOT a complaint.

Upon trying them on, I noticed how soft the padding is on the ear; these are incredibly comfortable headphones, possibly the most comfortable pair I've worn. Again, I love the use of wood and fabric in the construction of the On1, these have a very retro feel to me, but still modern; not flashy, but definitely head-turners.

I couldn't wait to listen to something! I have very wide range in musical tastes, so I didn't even know where to start. I jumped around from Jimi Hendrix to Adele, Mumford & Sons to Kanye and everywhere in between; I really wanted to put these to the test.
