I've been watch this book for about two years and the publishing date keeps getting pushed back.

Is it ever going to get published?

Will it still be relevent when it does?

Considering the date of the initial post and his statement of how long he's been tracking this book, I don't think it's going to be published.

His post is dated almost a year ago.

I've been tracking the book myself for the last couple months and each month the book gets pushed back until the next month.

I'm giving it one more month and then I'm forgetting about it. There's really
no excuse for pushing back the release date on a monthly basis.

I ordered this book from Amazon on 11/29/2005 for $16.47. Amazon has canceled my order a couple times since then but I keep putting it back into "preorder" status. Kindof rediculous. Current price is $40, a good bit higher than what I originally agreed to, but my locked preorder price from 11/17/2007 is $23.07. I keep forgetting abotu this thing except for the occasional emails from Amazon asking me if I want to keep my preorder active or not. By the time I get it in 2011, I hope it's not still a 2005 book...

I've been watching this book since late 2005 too. I actually emailed nostarchpress two years ago to see what's going on. Their reply was that they had unforeseen delays and because they didn't have a definite release date they didn't list it on their website. Well it's been listed on their coming soon section for at least 6 months now and the release is always moved back.

They might be revising for the latest gdb but if they are in fact doing that, even 2011 seems optimistic. Anyway I'm also worried that it will be a little dated by the time it gets out so I'm going to wait till it hits a bookstore to check it out before buying it.
