I am not a leather expert but it is extremely durable with strong stitching and has protective felt backing as a second layer. I would peel it back to double check but it is constructed very well and afraid to damage it myself.

I have had it for many months and honestly, I am a klutz plus packing idiot. It has survived all of my travels, briefcase with pens, paper clips, etc, large purses, and luggage. Not a single scratch, surface wear, fading, or tear and that is something to appreciate given the ill treatment I can inadvertently dish out. It even survived getting sand all over it at the beach. Plus, I can count on having something professional in appearance during my client meetings.

not really sure Stacey. It feels like it is built for more lasting power than anything. My favorite part is the velcro. It have given me several options for using the tablet as a display or information device.

It's not fauz or faux... it's real leather! That's the reason I bought it and I was VERY pleased with the workmanship The inside part comes out so you can take the tablet without the stand up part. It's a snug fit so nothing slides around. The holes for the camera are quite large so nothing gets in the way of pictures. There are two openings for speakers in case you have stereo. All in all... I would recommend this to anyone that wants a good quality case.... not a cheap faux/pleather/fake leather/vinyl kind of case.
