Vern Thornton, a former newsman, obtained the rank of Chief Deputy in the Broward Sheriff’s Office before becoming associated with Florida’s Attorney General as founder of Seniors vs. Crime, a nationally acclaimed program.

He and his wife live in Lake Worth, FL. The couple has two children.
