The umbrella is just what I was looking for. Quality made of durable construction to go against the wind and rain. I was tired of those purse-sized umbrellas whose life spans are far too short and not worth the money. This umbrella is light, large for full coverage, and has an easy to carry handle for tossing over the arm. This umbrella is labeled as a men's umbrella, perhaps due to the length... which yes, a bit too long for a short person but overall I love it!

Very stylish and sturdy umbrella. I expect this to last a lifetime. My only complaint is that while the handle is wooden and the tip is wooden, the main shaft of the umbrella is plastic. This means if it is actually used as a cane, the umbrella would likely break. Luckily, I don't need a cane so it's no big deal.

Still a VERY nice umbrella for the price.

Updating this on 11/25/2011: Still holding up just fine. I just found the original order and it's dated August 24, 2010. Having no issues with the umbrella. The original review is below:
----
I normally don't write reviews, especially good ones, but lately I started to do so, here it goes. I had hard time finding an umbrella, because I'd go straight to 1 and 2 star reviews and would start hating the thing, even though the average was 4.5 starts. I wanted to get a Gustbuster one, but at $50 and up the reviews did not suggest that the value was good for the money. I "settled" on this one and let me tell this was not a mistake. I've been using it for about a month now in rainy and windy Boston and it holds up great! You'd still need to "steer" your umbrella, but even when I failed to do so, it would not "invert" from wind. So for $10 even it it breaks once a year, I won't cry and just buy it again. I would not be able to say the same thing about a $50-$60 gustbuster.
So, get it! $10 is not much for a big, stylish and pretty sturdy umbrella.

Sometimes I wish it had an over the shoulder strap though.

This umbrella was a great buy for about a week. Now it won't open properly (it gets stuck about half up) and I have to force it to get the full canopy. Totes offers a lifetime warranty, but I could almost buy a new one for what it will cost to ship it back.

Great for the price, good overall. It's the perfect size for me (I'm 6') and it seems sturdy, but it does look cheaply made because, well, it is. The handle is made of painted plywood and chips easily, but cosmetics are unimportant to me at this price (around $15). Seems to be somewhat wind-resistant, but it hasn't been truly tested yet. I would recommend this product if you're not willing to spend more for a fancier stick umbrella or don't trust gimmicks.

This umbrella is so great. At first I was scared the auto open feature would pop it up strongly, but it opens up nicely and smoothly! The main shaft of the umbrella is actually wood, not plastic like the other reviewer said. The handle is a very nice, dark wood. Perfect and cheap!

I owned one of these for over five years. I'm finally buying a new one because it's become rusty and doesn't snap open like it used to. But, come on, five years! It never turned inside out, even in a strong windstorm.

This is a nice looking umbrella and has worked flawlessly for 11 months, then one of the tips fell off. Fortunately, I found a mangled umbrella on the side of the road from which I cut off the tips and, with my wife's help, sewed one on my umbrella. If I don't let it snap open it may last a while longer. This is not my first umbrella to lose tips, but it is the first one I was able to repair. I suspect the manufacturers use inferior thread.

This is THE GREATEST umbrella I have ever seen, in quality, style, and durability. The pictures you see are nothing compared too the real thing. It's all made out of thick wood, and the metal parts are thick too, and are unlikely to fly inside-out due to high winds.

I can't recommend this enough, very good style and quality.

I lost a similar umbrella (don't we all!) and came to the web as a last resort. Found this totes stick unbrella with the wooden shaft. It's everything I want - thinking about having my name engraved on it so the next time I lose it maybe it'll be returned! Don't hesitate.
