Does this camera transfer pictures without the software that comes with it? My Kodak has Easy Share and works through Windows without software.

Yes, connecting with USB cable, the camera looks like a USB drive to the computer. You can then cut and paste from camera to your computer drive.

One never needs the included software to transfer photos from any digital camera to a computer or most other devices. I do not use the software. There are two popular ways to transfer photos from the camera. 1) The camera comes with USB cables for connecting the camera to the USB port on your computer or other device. Windows will auto-install the appropriate device driver for the camera, and then it will be seen as a disk drive where you can then copy/paste from the camera to your other device. 2) Buy a "card reader" in which you insert the camera's SD card and connect via the reader's USB cable to your computer.

Yes it does but the software for windows 8 does not work
